I know it is hard to make comparisons.

I am interested in how people rate the A-league compared to other leagues etc.

If the English Premier League was rated 100 as a starting point how would you rate the other leagues and divisions around the world.  The way I was looking at it was if we took the top 3 teams from these leagues, would they do well or hold their own in another league. i.e. would Sydney FC, and Melbourne of last year compete comfortably in the MLS. I think they would.

I will start my ideas below.

English Premier League      100
Dutch Premier                     90
Scotland Premier                 85
English Championship         85
Belgium Premier                  75
English League 1                75
English League 2                65
A- League                           70
MLS USA                             70
Wales Premier                     60
English Non-League            55
NZFC                                   50

The reason I am interested is because I am trying to look at the strength of NZ players around the world at the moment on paper.

I think missiing, serie-a, la liga and most other european leagues makes your list a little skewed. Most europeans champions league teams are strong enough to put all those leagues ahead of many outside europe, and you should also remember the J-league and south american leagues.

I think it goes like this:

Wales Premier                     100
English Premier League       90
Dutch Premier                     90
Scotland Premier                 85
English Championship         85
Belgium Premier                  75
English League 1                75
English League 2                65
A- League                           70
MLS USA                             70
English Non-League            55
NZFC                                   50

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

I have specifically chosen those leagues because we have NZ's playing in them or potential to play in them. Thats why I left out a lot of leagues.

I find it interesting that people have the MLS on the same level as the A-League. I would see that the MLS is equivalent to the English Championship. True Melbourne and Sydney maybe competitive on their good days but week in and week out I think they wiil struggle.

I would be interested to know what exposure people are seeing of the MLS outside the US.

Yeah, but the way Champions League is designed these days it's very difficult for clubs from poorer leagues to compete.

MLS is better than the A-League at this moment in time, no doubt about it.
