Johnsons contract should be cancelled immediately, regardless of the outcome of his appeal. The Club needs to show that his offending was not acceptable and no longer have him as a player. I will be very disappointed in the Phoenix's ethics if they do not.

It is shocking behaviour, and he should be punished for it,
however, I think it'd be good if he plays the last few months of
his contract when he gets out of jail. Hopefully jail will have
toughened him up more than he already is and he can dominate the
midfield even more. But I can see where you are coming from
bkirker.
