Waitakere United's Roy Krishna will spend a couple of weeks with the Phoenix.
After a sharp performance at the NZFC final, could he follow Ben Sigmund next year?

Did he play for Fiji against the All Whites last year?

I suspect keeping local/regional talent is the aim...

If it turns out he can train well maybe he'll get transferred. It's in WPFC's interest to test these guys out, it's not a charity move.

I heard the Phoenix were letting Australians play against them who could play a world cup qualifier against New Zealand in the next 15 years....

...disgraceful !!

I know, I know. And the English keep letting Christiano Ronaldo play against them in the EPL even though he's already f**ked them over in one World Cup and is likely to do it again (and again). Are they stupid?

Anyway, who's to say Krishna doesn't get mysteriously injured during Phoenix training a month before the World Cup qualifier? Ricki is a genius!

I've watched Krishan a couple of times and have to say that I'm not sold on him (yet)

I think he tends to run the wrong lines as a striker and gets in other players way. I would also put that down to him being new to our shores and possibly this level of football on a weekly basis and once he as been coached and adapted, that could well change.

he would be a good buy i reckon, he's quick and has a bit of flair which always helps. If Phoenix dont sign him next year i'm pretty sure he will get picked up by another aussie club for sure.

He is good but do you think he is worth one of our foreign player spots?  Also, what do you think about Osea Vakatalesau (spelling?)?  Do you think he could make it at A-league level?

he has a lot of work to do before he's a finished product but i think he could be fiji's 1st player to play in europe and at worse in usa if he gets the right coaching and help. Osea Vakatalesau is also a good player and has out and out pace but lacks finishing skills, he'd be right up there with the speedster in the a league. Lets not forget that roy's not even 21 yet( i could be wrong there). I'm originally from fiji and go there every now and then and manage to watch games while i'm there, theres a lot of talent there but heaps of them go off track as they dont see it as much of a future playing soccer. If nzfc team went scouting there i'm sure they could get some very very good players. If you look at the amount of money Nz soccer put in compared to Fijian soccer you be amazed that the fiji team doesnt get smashed by nz everytime. oh yeah sorry went off track there LOL yes my personal opinion would be that Roy is worth a foreign player spot.

Osea struggled for Manawatu and didn't start as often as was expected (due to form). What makes you think he can cut it in Europe or USA when he can't even perform in the NZFC

also means ricki can study what makes the boy tick, and how best to shut him down in the qualifier

When I saw Krishna play this season gone he changed the game easch time he came on - great pace and vision - suspect he'll end up an attacking mid rather than a striker.
