I am not impressed by the signing of Ross. It will prove to be a big mistake and is a sign that we cam expect the same old from a NZ club. Ricki is not considering player personality in assembling his team. It is embarassing we are picking up a player other clubs see as a lability. Ross is a moron who Adelaide got for rid of for a reason -they had enough of him even though he offered some virtues. Those virtues are in the past, so as well as a moron he is a has-been. The Phoniek do not need a moron hasbeen in the team. I predict that he will not see out the season. He will likely leave Wellington before the end of the season, one way or the other -Wellington will not be to his liking. On a more positve note, the quality of this website is encouraging.

So the first big signing is young John Aloisi. Reportedly he is getting paid more than any other player has been ever paid with a Kiwi club (350,000 plus Aussie dollars, I've heard)- and he's an Aussie.

Make no mistake- he could be a quality signing, and for a seventh of the salary cap- you'd want him to be.

He is probably the best leader the club will find out of the rubbish left behind from the other, more established franchises. His reckless and ugly  side may disappear under the responsibility of captaining a club that will be under the pump for the first season to perform and establish itself as a REAL club in the wake of the farce that was New Zealand Knights. People over here in Australia laugh when they hear that name- is it the same in Welly? I can only hope that Ricki Herbert does not pick up too many players from that squad, or this club will be under more pressure than it needs.

My club, Perth Glory, were interested in signing this lowlife, mainly for the possibility of luring his brother John back- Now HE is a quality talent, and if Phoenix can get someone like him as a marquee then they should be very pleased.

I challenge the phoenix to find some real talent, not just f**king hopeless former Knights dushes who wouldn't make an Aussie local Premier League squad. Richard Johnson and Mark Paston are fine, but if you start getting more w**kers like Frank van Eijes, Niell Emblen or Shaun Devine, then we DO NOT WANT YOU IN OUR COMP!!! IS THAT CLEAR!!!!

Oh my god, someone has out Tarded the Tards on here...

You are aware that if Victory hadn't sent a B squad to Perth last year we'd have finished ahead of you despite the sh*t squad the Knights had ?

How's my driving? - Whine here

I'd also like to point out that Neil Emblen is a decent player (but you're right about frank van eijs and sean devine).

Um, I think you'll find it's Ross, not John. Who cares if a foriegner does get the highest wage in a League. Was the higherst paid A-KLeague player an Aussie? Is the highest paid EPL player English? . . ..

"reportedly", to use your words. . . . Not sure exactly where you get that from Chump. We know how good the media are at getting information wrong, and judging by your innacuracy already in your thread I'm not inclined to believe this estimate. Perhaps if you quoted your source this would be helpful.

People in New Zealand laugh when they hear the word "Australia". By the way, besides the Grand Final (after which Aloisi RETIRED from the club) how many other instances of "reckless and ugly" side can you point out?

Never mind. I'm sure we're going to get some more idiots chiming in.

Gloryman7 I take it you would be one of those dickheads that stand in the shed at perth glory games and sing kiwis are sheep shaggers. how original that is.
You named the so called sh*t players that the Knights had last season.
Well you roo rooting  aussie I'd like to remind you when the Knights last played the dingo f**kers ,Knights 2 Glory nil.
Your team needs to improve because the games I saw the Glory play were sh*t and if it wasn't for Bertos playing some outstanding football your crowds would have been smaller than the Knights.
Fingers crossed that Bertos gets released from Glory so he can enjoy playing some exciting football for the PHOENIX.
So piss off back to the land of sand.

I believe the signing of Ross is good for the Phoenix..He may get hot headed and can do/say some stupid things but I think his experience and leadership could prove invaluable to helping the Phoenix to a top 4 position at the end of the season..Which he did at Adelaide two years straight might I add.

At least we know what it takes to get under Ross's nose; six goals and some interesting line calls.
Thankfully the six goals will be FOR the Phoenix.
