Andy Cole & Ole (you are my sunshine) are exactly the sort of
signings we need to make. Admittedly this will cost a few bob
and hats off to El-Tel for his generosity but if what is been
purported that Mr Herbert is on a massive salary (350k) we just
need to get a bit smarter with our spend.
250k for a marquee player would be the go - 100k for
Ricki
I for one will be at the stadium come hell or high
water!

250k is less than David Zdrillic is on at Sydney and he's not even
a marquee. You'd need to be multiplying that number by more
than 3 get the money Sydney were paying Yorke and the two
named would demand.

As long as you are paying lots of money to get a good coach,
it is definitely worth it. The coach can make all the difference-
look at Van Egmond and Herbert last seaon. However, if the coach is
not good, its really not worth it, eg Terry Butcher, what a rip
off.
Another point is that the salary of the manager is not
included in the salary cap, so you can afford to pay lots.

I've heard reasearch shows that people don't/can't have any
realistic conception of any more than 3 times their own annual
salary - beyond that it just becomes meaningless telephone numbers,
divorced from any realistic appreciation of what the amount
actually means.
