
Young Kiwi footballer Thomas Spragg (pictured above) has been formally approached by English Premiership club Aston Villa for a one week trial.
Spragg was spotted by Villa scouts this week at the prestigious Manchester United Premier Cup, where he captained the Auckland-based, Central United team to 17th place at the tournament.
The young winger/striker performed outstandingly scoring three times in six matches.
The Premier Cup gathers together some of the most talented under-15 footballers from all around the globe. Over 9,000 teams from more than 40 countries participated in qualifying for this years compeition. The top 20 teams reach the World Finals which are held in Manchester.
Spragg will remain in the UK and heads to Aston Villa next week to commence trials.
Villa, based in Birmingham, are one of the oldest and most successful clubs in English football history.

Thats fantasic news for the lad and also for Central.
Just shows what can happen if we can get our up and comming kids in front of overseas scouts.
