So on the 3rd of february Dave Burgess said

And today he suggests Newtown Park as a venue for the stadium

He really just makes this up as he goes along doesn't he?

Maybe I'm a little bit of a dick for this, but I'm vaguely disappointed in Iffs for taking that job.

DomPost have done nothing except undermine and poke sticks at the Phoenix since pretty much day one. It feels a little bit like he's signed for our rrrrrrrrrrrrivals.

Guess we'll have to wait and see what he writes.

maybe he is just able to be grown up about what they're job is (to report news*).  He probably realises that not take everything that they write about the Phoenix that is going to be in completely glowing terms, and that that is fine. They have done plently to support the club from the very beginning, but they have occassionally run stories that are news-worthy (Terry) and although they ultimately don't help the club, it is part of their job.

* Waits for "blah, blah, reporting news? that is a joke, all they do is be mean to us and they hate us and it is all made up stuff because they are jealous of everything about us.  And they smell of poo" type comments.

I think it's great to have a column from Ifill in there.

So far he's been positive and interesting.

The return of the pigeon would likely be down to the 1000kg of grass seed recently sewn. He loves that seed

I am no " turfologist" and will bow to your wisdom, but given we , and no one else have played there since Feb 16 why has grass seed only just been sown? Even my own feeble attempts at growing something approaching a lawn sees grass starting to grow inside about a week?  Wasn't there also a major 'returfing' or something done earlier in the season, which was given as one of the reasons we were away from home for weeks on end?
Given the amount of use the stadium actually gets, I would have thought it not that difficult to maintain a better surface than the blotchy, pox ridden, hole infested thing we have now.

Is this a case of under investment in the surface literally seeing the pigeon(s) coming home to roost.

Hurricanes played(made movement on the pitch) at Westpac Friday 7 March.

Yup I did realise that but what I was getting at is it has been a long time between 16 Feb and the weekend just gone.

Have a look in the new stadium thread. Might have answered some of your questions.

The "returf" was a spring renovation irrc. 5/6 weeks is a typical 'no traffic' window.

WTF is with the troll commenting about players diving under that article? What's that got to do with anything? And although they're both immoral I think there's a massive difference between exaggerating contact or even faking it to try and benefit your team, and racially abusing another player.

Anyone got a minute? Could you read this and tell me what Sam Worthington is trying to say? Thanks.
