On Breeze, this morning there was a phone in, regarding the ticket prices for the Phoenix.

The general opinions voiced concerning gate prices, were.

           To high

Should be reduced, at least until the club got established

Stay at $28 but allow accompanied kids in free

Why does it cost more to purchase over the net

Overall it seemed most callers would not be going because of the prices.

I for one, think the club should rethink it's stratagy until we are
                                      "TOP OF THE LEAGUE".

I have to say the numbers being bandied about concern me.

I mean Ticketek talk about $23.00 but now they are saying an $8.50 booking fee on top ?  If that is true it is ridiculous and will seriously impact the crowd numbers.

Like you Skaman, I think things have ended up too costly and with the media latching on to that it's going to have a major impact on the final crowd numbers.

I know people who told me they were thinking of going running scared already as well.

I think it is rather large booking fee $8.50.  We got around by getting 5 tickets and then the booking fee is only a one off.

I'm not to sure but is the fee smaller if you book in person at Ticketek office at the Michael Fowler.

NB. The Knights games were cheaper to watch (I guess you pay for what you get).

I'm not saying it's expensive - but they might have shot themselves in the foot with the pricing strategy

Funny or should it be SAD Ticketwots, buggered up the ticketing at Millwal and bearing in mind all our games were ticket, they made a fortune.

Millwall are nearly out of contract wiv them and will not be renewing.

As the agents they didn't add an admin charge they took it out of the cover price.

The booking fee is only $6.00 at the Opera House outlet (the Michael Fowler one is shut).

If you buy more than one ticket the total is still only $6.00, so get your mates together and on 4 tickets it's only a total of $24.50 each.

Hopefully it encourages more people to get season passes instead.

I see the number of season passes sold is now up to 1500. Not too bad really. Maybe 2000 is achievable after all.

Alot of people i have talked to were going to go unitll they herd the prices of the tickets. Sure if ur working and ur about 25 who can afford this easily its fine but for university students its alot. Considering they pissheads and can buy some Double Brown for 14 bux. But luckily i got maself a season ticket. Not long now till D day.

Yeah i think they overshot the ticket prices. I understand that they need to make big money fast but i think these prices are too intemidating.

Why does the A league decide how much clubs should charge for tickets?  Surely it makes more sense if clubs were able to set their own ticket prices to maximize revenues.  That way established and successful clubs could charge a bit more as they are selling a proven product with lots of demand and newer/or less successful clubs could have lower prices to introduce people to the product and build up a loyal fan base.

I really hope that we get 12,000 plus to this weekends game but fear the ticket prices will mean a lot less show up.

Ok so that's the A League pricing structure, but why should Ticketwots nick so much off the top?

can someone just confirm for me....student price is $28 as well (or $24 or whatever if you buy it from ticketek in person?)

I didn't buy a season pass as when I asked the person selling them at the pre season game, she said students would be $10 a game (a season ticket saving them 20%).

As i'm going away for a while mid-season there wasn't much point getting a season pass if that was true, but if the prices are $28 for students, season ticket here i come!

cheers

Considering that the only people who listen to The Breeze are lonely, dissatisfied, and 50+, I wouldn't give too much creedence to what they said....
