This is a long shot.. but.. with all the angst at SKY for not providing enough coverage of football..
What are the odds of the NZ football community setting up their own web-based broadcast channel for football??
There's got to be enough people floating about with media/web skills to at least start thinking about possibilities. It wouldn't have to run 24/7. With a modest amount of advertising revenue, might even be able to get local broadcast rights to individual games...
Now I realise there are some massive logisitcal isssues (cameras, bandwidth, financing) but each wuld have to be discussed and solutions found to see if it's workable. If the viewing numbers are there, then it could become viable. .. . if the numerbs really are there as people seem to suggest from reading some of the forum threads.
NOW FLAME IT!

the only problem is that you would need it to be subscription based, but with the prevealance of JustinTV and other P2P broadcasting methods available out there with the same content/quality absolutley free, it just wouldnt work as a commercial venture.
