So does anyone know if the FFA decided that he did actually breach his suspension? has anyone ever officially complained or was it just after match talk?

Just in the papers wasn't it. Dunno if anyone else complained officially?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

The thing is it seems very inconsistent for Gary Van Egmond to get in trouble for this when Paul Nevin did exactly the same thing (it was on tv) against Perth and nobody complained at all.  The most that was done was the commentator said, "he'll have one huge phone bill", to which the other commentator chuckled in agreeance.

Having said that, I'm all for inconsistency if it benefits the Phoenix over the Aussie teams so yeah.

Well it doesn't benefit us really since we're not meeting Newcastle again till early January, but yeh they may have missed Nevin doing it before but if they don't lay down the law now the whole match ban becomes a farce and coaches like GvE won't care if they get banned.

I guess what we have to think about here is what's fair. I don't particularly care whether his ban is extended or not but it's a question of principle. It's like..your penalty taker is banned for one day and he doesn't get to play but then you're awarded a penalty and he sneaks in...scores a goal and leaves the pitch right away.

Dura lex, sed lex.
Or rules are rules, if you prefer!

I didn't know you couldn't  communicate to the touchline, but I remember Jose ' the special one' Moriniho getting in trouble for serving a touch line ban with what seemed to be a transmitter under his hat..Anyone remember?

He denied once again that the hat he wore last week concealed a device to communicate with Mourinho and promised that not only would he be wearing it again but he would also be instigating the suspicious note-passing that went on among the Chelsea staff at Stamford Bridge"
