I mean, the "sign Clapham" stuff is an acceptable point of view, if not a well thought out one, but this...

... Ifill? Muscat? Daniel?!?

It annoys me that even though Piney has found out the 'truth' behind the playing style change, the Doom Post continue to use their own made up version of things in their stories.

Fred doesn't work for the Dom anymore, he works for the NZPA. Or at least he did last time I looked.

That's because Fred only interviews the people inside his head

Fred is pretty good I've found. Him and Piney, and Marc Hinton on the odd occasion. Don't mind Michael Brown either.

If the by line has Harris, Hay, Bidwell, Worthington, Thompson or Maddaford (the worst of them) then I avoid reading

Most of the headlines I've read recently seem to have only tenuous links to the actual words quoted within. Take, for instance, the link on our own YF home page which says "Durante  sick of Morgan's comments". The actual article in question on the NZ Herald page has a headline of "Soccer:Phoenix under seige".

Andrew's actual qoute that is referred to in the YF headline is "Wellington Phoenix captain Andrew Durante is sick of having to field questions about the latest musings of outspoken club co-owner Gareth Morgan."

There's a lot of misrepresentation going on around this whole discussion. And it's not just members of the media who are perpetrating them, plenty of fans are too.

When I posted that article on the News page, I just copied and pasted the headline from the Herald page, it's not my fault they have changed it since.

What Patrick said.  What possible reason would we have to post anything other than the story we are linking to?

I have no idea HN. But in that case, it's interesting that the Herald changes it's own headline! Perhaps a grown-up turned up and made them do it.
