Okay, got the inspiration for this sunday night, and have since
been working furiously on a forum called "YNSAF" which is an
acronym for "You're not safe at the football" (ps, when you see it,
and think why have i worked furiously on small forum like that,
create your own phpbb account, and let the fun ensue)
The basic thought, is to get together people, and hopefully bring
about a change in the public perception of football in this
country, and a change in the way the media goes about selling there
agenda riddled misconceptions to a public seemingly eager to
discriminate something without the PC crap. Unfortunately,
I'm not terribly well versed in how football is treated in NZ, but
I'm guessing it takes a major back seat to rugby on more occasions
than not.
Any1 and everyone is welcome to join, but i ask that if you do
join, please, keep it civilized, no bullsh*t with opposing fans,
and try to keep the posts helpful. I'm hoping that this is
the first step in a series of steps to get a pro-football mass
media movement put forward in this country, rather than relying
solely on people such as Micheal Lynch for passable football
articles, and having things written by "journalists" such as
Sowerby and Zed, constantly rammed down our throats.
For those who are interested, there is a starting point on the
website, hopefully people can expand on it. At the moment,
this does feel like a pipe dream for us to actually get out there
and effect the mass media, but with enough co-operation, I'm
positive that we CAN do something.
