Anyone gone into a store and seen one? Or even bought one?
As i said in another thread..While i thought it was obviously slightly better than HD,it wasnt worth
a) the massive money
b) having to wear the glasses.
Is quite cool though. Not jump out at your face 3d (which i hate) but just a much more clearer picture.

Was having a look in sony style the other day in Auckland it was pretty cool, nice picture and all that but like you say its not worth the money. It would be cool though if reading cinemas did some of the football world cup in 3D. Talk to the bosses.

Im not sure the football matches in 3D is possible anyway (no broadcaster here doing it?).
Could ask about showing games on a big screen if people would be interested, they may have already thought about it though.

They probably could access it though I'm guessing if they wanted to broadcast it. I'd pay $20 bucks to watch a game in 3D. Only issue is the time of games though.

Foxtel are broadcasting the match next week in 3D... their (Aussies) first ever live broadcast, giving it heaps of extra plugs (even the leaguies last night).

I like it how they have managed to trump Channel 9 who are broadcasting Origin 1 in 3d 2 days later. They had been trumpetting that as Aus first 3d sportwww.kiwifromthecouch.blogspot.com

I had a look at the one in Sony style the other week. Pretty damn awesome for games. And nature shows make it seem like you are actually there.
But live sports and tv movies will be pretty average for a bit as they have not put motion flow with it. So fast things blur.
Also, I find that the HD qualities are somewhat let down as you can still see the outline of the second image.
Im not so convinced at the moment.
But still want one.
Plus, when I had another look today. The glasses didn't seem to do much, because in the crowd shots, it was just a blur of arms and people. Plus the glasses only seemed to make the image darker. Maybe it was me.

I have a personal agenda against 3D TV and movies. When I get my way they will not be allowed to exist.

Never been one to care about my health when it comes to technology.
But I hear 3D really does f**k your eyes, my friend went to the optometrist a week after seeing avatar in 3D, and his eyes still hadn't recovered.

It shouldnt actually do that. They figured out what caused it,and re-designed the technology around it. Cant remember exact details. Though i guess there are people who still get it bad enough that they slip through the cracks. Some people simply cant see the 3d,again,something to do with their eyes and brain.

Thats very true. I did find that things blurred. So probably no point getting one as yet until they develop the motion (and until they start actually showing TV in 3d here?)But live sports and tv movies will be pretty average for a bit as they have not put motion flow with it. So fast things blur.
