Most of you have probably seen it already, as its the top trending news piece in the country at the moment, but if you havent read this:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/9588714/Drunk-child-prompts-police-move

Full 4min long unedited video on YouTube too.

So sick of this crap. Used to spend a lot of time around places like this when i rode BMX as a teen/early 20's. Skateparks really have a habit of this kind of activity. I feel terrible for this kid though, just shows how fucked some of these communities are when all the kids in this video think its normal. Hes no doubt going to grow into a life of drug and alcohol dependency,  probably violence and crime too. And dont get me started on the older guy at the end...

Unfortunately this happens all too much in Fairfield (I speak as a former rep of their Intermediate school). That skate park in particular is shocking, Police have to patrol it quite often, and parents are advised to not let their kids go anywhere near there. In this case, clearly the poor kid has no worthwile parents

Apparently reading the Herald today, he does. Mum was shocked and Dad is in a custody battle but being kept at arms length. Cops say the family is decent. Apparently a family member fed it to him after a funeral along with a couple of shots.

Take them out back and shoot them I say.

Anyone else a little bit appaled at the guy who thought it would be a good idea to put the footage on YouTube?

Absolutely. Reckoned that the cops "didn't do anything" because the cops didn't call him back. Therefore the best way to help this kid was apparently to put his video on youtube where it could get 500,000 hits.

Muppetry of the highest order.

He would be goneski after 8 let alone 18.

Yeah poor call to put it on youtube. Could have at least blurred the faces. Not such a bad thing that people see it though because it is shocking to see. Might make people realise and do something

Fuck this stupid game

I know the guy who did this, he is preening it as "I'm so shocked by this yada yada yada" and while I think part of that is true, he's also a massive publicity whore, so when the police asked him to take it down, he wasn't too keen.

I actually disagree here. I think he did the right thing posting it. Its got everyone talking and for retards that think this is ok, well the scorn that has poured out shows its not. Is it going to effect instant change? No its not however as he says, its bought the issue to the front of the page. This little shit should won't be doing much again for a long while.

I also think its time for it to come down too.

But it's the Internet, so it's been spread even if he takes it down.
I do agree, but perhaps blurring the faces wouldn't have been a bad idea either.

Allegedly

What makes you assume this will be a certainty? With proper intervention and care, this kid can still live a great life. Needs to be taken out of his current environment and looked after by much more suitable and responsible people.

Gotta feel so bad for the kid though. He's only 8-9 years old. Deserves more.

And I don't necessarily think that posting the video on youtube was a bad idea. It exposes the general public to issues within our society that need addressing. If anything it creates more awareness about what is happening in some parts of our country. I don't necessarily think it was a bad decision to upload the video to youtube.

This is a bit extreme...

Family members feeding alcohol to kids that are not even close to being teenagers? Yup, take them out the back and shoot them.

If they are that fucking stupid and lacking in brains, there is no depth to their stupidity and what else they will do.

Yup good call on the blurring of the face. May have been a better way of dealing with it.

Not in the slightest. Needs to be seen.
I like tautologies because I like them.
