Just got back from year 12 pe camp.
We did a tramp around the Abel Tasman.
Ferry from Welly to Picton then bus from Piction to kaiteiteri then water taxi to a bay called Bark Bay and camped there then the next day tramped to a place called Anchorage which was another awesome beach then the next day tramped to a place called Old McDonalds Farm in Marahau then kayaked around the Abel Tasman the next day. Was so amazing. All the bays were absolutly beautiful, weather was perfect and people were awesome. Gotta love school camps.
Was wondering if anyone else has done this or similar around the Abel Tasman?JanelleRT2010-03-20 19:21:03

Did it last December just before Christmas. 5 day guided tour from Totaranui all the way down to Maaehau. A mixture of walking and kayaking.
Beautiful.

I've stayed in kaiteiteri for a cpl of weeks and done loads of kayaking and boat trips into the park. There is a german run health spa up in the bush there with loads of hot pools and is great soaking at night after running the tracks

Was in Kaiteriteri over the Christmas holidays and it was amazing. Beaches aren't too far off tropical - great place.

The Abel Tasman is probably the greatest place I've ever been.

yep I wasn't thinking. and in fact i'd be hard pressed to pick jst one great place frm the many i've been. Abel Tasman wd be in my top ten of great places in NZ I've been but I'd prob have a few surf beaches beating it along with the top of Mt Ruapehu

Thanks to the modern technology of youtube I can now see the song that I was at pains to avoid seeing in any shape or form during the 80s. It's as ghastly now as it was then.
Just confirms to me that the 80s were a horrible blot on history and should expunged from all records (except for the Young Ones and Alexei Sayle)
