Already 5 down at lunch, the Bangleshies are showing some great form. I'd like to know what the purposes of these inept tests serve? 2 or three day tests. Hardly long enough to raise a swet over. Still NZ are making hard work of it against the newest members of the Test Cricket Arena.

Mind you looking at the NZ performnces we'd be on a hiding against a real side - which will happen when England visit.

2 day test are not what they are all about. And hitting 400 against such opposition is hardly going to prepare our batsmen against sterner bowling. We played them last year and now this year. We need tests here against Aus, SA, Pakistan to help give our players proper tests. If they were still a test side, we'd be playing Zimbabwe instead of England. 120 for 8 - wow!

143 all out. Oddly enough, this could really test our openning batsmen! Fleming should get another 105? Lonegunmen2008-01-13 12:23:12

Shame the weather wasn't so good all day - started off crap, got better an hour or so beforer me and my mates left.

Bangladesh supporters added great atmosphere as per usual. Beige Brigade weren't overly noticeable, just more spectators really, loved the skirts and the penguin though, class stuff.

Highlight was getting pistachio gelato in the heat. So good!

A good way to sleep off a hangover on the bank- the new scoreboard is all class

The YF effect meant singing was heard in pockets around the stadium- some quite good chants actually

I heard a "Who are ya?" at one point, and me and my buddy almost resorted to "Are you Bucknor is disguise?"

Maybe we should co-ordinate for another match, I've still got another ticket but my mates are less keen for test cricket so maybe a YF outing is in order.

I'd personally say a day of Phoenix football at the Ring of Fire is better, but thats just me

I retract my hesitation in that thread after seeing the Beige Brigade in "action". Great idea bopman, I'm keen

Have fun, but I suspect some people may suggest that's not what the Fever is about, so using the name Fever might be a little unfair.

The Beige brigade have been involved in advising the Fever quite a bit and have even guested on the podcast.  They know what's right for cricket, it's their sport.

True. a more subdued presence is required. Perhaps just wearing the Retro Rickis without too much noise. Although Sonny Shaw is bound to be there with those friggen annoying flags looking for the TV cameras as oer normal. HN, you seen his website? The guy needs a therapist.

Fair call. I'm not a fan of subdued presences myself, but as HN wisely pointed out it is their (Beige Brigade's) sport and they know whats best. I'll save my chanting for the football.

i disagree completely, its not like none of us supported cricket before the beige brigade come along or they are the only ones who know how to support cricket. big ups to them for the help with the fever im sure there support has been awesome. but theres more than one way to skin a cat. my suggestion should have been initially that a group  get together to take on the barmy army. and a group with better credentials could not be found anywhere but at the home of we mad lot.the b.a will be there and you can put money on the fact theyll be singing there songs. someone reckons there were upwards of 100 of them at the last england test at the basin. so a group of us in my opinion should get together wearing retro rickis, beige brigade tops, all black jerseys whatever we bloddy well like really and give the b.a a taste of kiwi

You sound a) surprised, and b) excited.

It is Bangladesh...

But no, good result, any win by more than an innings is a great win.
