Any Idea...

Since it's the off season and YF contains so many who like to share info wether trivial or educational I thought I'd start a thread where myself and any other self-confessed blondes of any hair denomination can ask odd questions which others might know the answer to...

so first up
- if I have a bleached animal skull and want it to end up red (in a gothy way) is it best to use paint? dye? stain? - any ideas...

But it would stain the skull - but will probably come out more brownish than red

Ahh yeah - any female/sensible person knows that things that have been coated in blood don't look very nice afterwards

seriously tho... I'm just not sure about how porous thibgs like that are and wether a fence stain is better than paint

perhaps use some kind of primer first (maybe and etch primer but not sure what that would do to bone).

Maybe do a few tests on some other bone piece to see what works best.

might even pay to try a few shades brighter than you want if it is going to soak in

It's a tricky topic for a squeamish animal loving person to google lol as keep ending up on taxidermy sites and can feel my bunnies glaring at me in horror. I want it to turn out something like the red skull on  this

but man i've discorvered there are some weird things out there

As bone is mainly calcium it would be best to use dye.

should just leave a question for the person on trademe, they might tell you exactly what product they used. sorted

which would work if it hadn't closed already. unsorted

Put on a fur coat, wear the skull as a necklace, then wander into a PETA gathering.

Why do animated .gif files don't animate when you save them & insert them into, say, an e-mail or viewing them in Microsoft Photo Manager?

2 geeks questions from me

- do all the google hosting sites like NZ/UK/US etc etc use the same ceelbratory font ea day or are countires individualised? ie today is apparently harry houdini's b.day tho whn i first went to google i thought it had something to do with abolishing slavery lol

- also with all the palava back in Feb about the last IP addresses being doled out and there being none left... how come nothing has changed. how is the web continuining to run as normal if a new pc or connection happens then where do they get their ip address frm if no more exist?

IPv4 the old way of organising i.p adresses was replaced by IPv6 by the Internet Engineering Task Force or IETF

Basically, some geeks somewhere made i.p addresses a few digits longer (maybe even infinitely longer) so the internet won't break.

We will never fully decide who has won the football.

Thanks Linds - now am I the only one who thinks we shd have more kiwi/football anniversaries as per this

 " Who designs the doodles?

There is a team of designers that are behind the doodles you see on Google.com.

How can Google users/the public submit ideas for doodles?

The doodle team is open to user ideas; requests for doodles can be sent to proposals@google.com. The team receives numerous requests so even if we do not get back to you about your request, please know that we do look at and consider all the requests that are submitted.

I love Google and have designed my own doodle. Where can I submit my fan logo?

You can submit your fan logos to proposals@google.com."

Your i.p should be the same, just for new users or pieces of tech which are internet able.

I dug out a couple of old PS2 games the other day: WRC4 and Killzone.

Both now no longer can be loaded - the console starts up but the screen remains blank. The discs don't appear to be scratched and all the other games work OK.

Any ideas?

(googling suggests the laser reader is dirty but how would that allow me to play lots of other games?)

firstly I love Killzone, i had the collectors edition but it got nicked.

the disc's themselves do have a life span so maybe if they are much loved they just can't take anymore. maybe give them a wipe too. or kick the ps2 lol

Cheers

Killzone was/is an old fave of mine too. Will wait for the PS2 to die before I even contemplate a PS3 ($600 still out of reach for this sort of item at the moment).

I'd be getting divorced. My wife would actually get to see me and spend time with me, and it wouldn't take her long to realise what she was married to.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
