Try Stats NZ and look for their post-enumeration survey. That may well have some numbers for you.

I've wondered this question myself a couple of times actually.  I know a Papuan family and they look very similar to Aboriginal Australians so the only time I think I've ever seen Aboriginal Australians in NZ they could have actually been Papuan (or just on holiday).

I'm 99% sure that Stats NZ only code 'australian'.

I know a few "Ingenious" Australians over there (I'm looking at Robb Watson!) but can't think of many "Indigenous" ones...
