It's a site you can put stuff on like your mum's chair and sell it, a bit like an auction really except it's all online and not based in actual reality.
When I mean reality it is real, money does change hands, (well it's not via hands as such, more like online again, I'm fairly sure no hands are involved). Chairs and other stuff does get transported via one person to another, but you may have to do that. That's if you are one of the selling the chair or you could do it as a favour to your mum. That would be nice if she is getting on or not spritely. Most of the sellers though get the other person, (the buyer, you know like the same one who was part of "let the buyer beware", which is sound advice, even if the word "beware" always makes me think of werewolves), to pick it up if the buyer bought it off you. If not he or she will never show believe me. Shipping is involved too.
I say shipping is involved but not trawlers or tankers or frigates, It's a term which describes how much it costs to pay a man to take the chair, (or teapot or basket, it does not have to be a chair), to the person you sold it too.
Anyhow hope this helps.ForteanTimes2010-03-16 20:50:57
