I've had both.  Mac easier to use and looks prettier.  PC more versatile but more prone to lunch itself regularly.  PC significantly cheaper unless you can pick up a deal on a Mac from Friends of the Fever Firstin.co.nz

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I say Mac.

I have a MacBook Pro. Great (not so) little machine. The wife has a MacBook and loves it. Downside is the white ones look girly, and the black ones aren't worth it.

You can install Windows on your mac and run it easily (not that I do).

fm08 runs fine on my Mac. And iPods are Apple.

I absolutely love my Mac Book Pro. Not sure about FM08 as I don't play (?) it. But I do architecture and use a lot of CAD programmes which are only produced for a Windows platform so I run Windows for that. Otherwise I do everything on my Mac. Expose is one of my favourite things, and is particularly helpful if you simultaneously use a number of programmes at the same time and switch between them lots.

Plus Macs are beautiful. Hypothetically, if you were to make love to a computer (not that you would), you wouldn't choose a PC. If you can't tell, I love my Mac...

I have a mac, not that it does anything differently, it's just a lot cooler (but definitely more expensive).  It just runs smoother...

You need quite a bit of ram to run windows full time though, if thats the plan then not sure it's worth it as it becomes pretty pricy

My answer: Neither.  Pick up an Eee PC or Asus Laptop with the new Atom drive.  The future is virtually all RAM, no boot up time, one tenth the energy use of a Mac or PC.  Just make sure you have a memory stick.  And its unbelievably cheaper. $500 with Linux and $600 with Windows.

I'm involved in buying 400 units a year.  It used to be true that Macs were better for graphics based programs but frankly that's not true anymore.  Macs are catching up to PCs in functionality.  PCs with Windows tend to have a couple of layers of redundant functions and security.  When PCs go wrong, there's always someone to help, with Macs you need to be a computer programmer for anything beyond the simplest problems.
