WWE or the old WWF had nothing on that New Zealand television classic. They should repeat it! Instead of spending 10 minutes if how they're going to do this and that and everything else, they just got on and did it! Let the wrestling do the talking.

YES!!  I've forgotten about these guys too!   And the dear ole grannies shaking their fists at the badies.  Occasionally they would swing their handbags at them & connect!!

Remember, Merve Fortune?  I can't remember whether he was a goodie or a villain, he was the next tier down & was always cannon fodder for who ever he was up against.

Tony(?) Rickard was Steve's skinny son wasn't he?

Always got in a few good hits before the beefier baddies pummeled him and then one of the goodies had to come in and rescue him.

Loved Samoan Joe's little dance before his headbutts too (which were good for a few more minutes that Tony Rickard before he too got smashed).

King Curtis started as a goodie then turned bad.  I remember Samoan Joe's slap dance when he was really fired up.  Actually, a couple of them visited our school (Mt Cook) back then. Wongo2009-12-30 23:36:49

Yeah Samoan joe had a tag team partner - they took it in turns to headbutt their opponents.

That was Sifi Afi Toagaga and his fancy cowboy boots. Samoan Joe could never quite master the head butt and often knocked himself silly.

King Curtis was actually a professor at massey.

Ox baker appeared in "Escape from New york" with Kurt Russell and also in a very early Jackie Chan Movie called "The Big Brawl".

Remember the trademark Sleeper Hold applied by King Curtis?  Once his opponent was in the hold it was pretty much curtains.  To get the opponent out of the "sleep" Curtis would slap him at the top of the back after being declared the bout of course.

Only trouble is if they repeat it, I might not take it seriously second time around.
