Bad dog!

While visiting my brothers house (In Australia) yesterday I saved the life of this old lady that was being mauled to death by two pitbulls. They tore off her ear and part of her nose and cheek. If I hadn't arrived there a sec later she would have be dead.

I got a couple of bits to the face and leg as did the wife who had to get plastic surgery but i would do it again if I had to. Other then worry about the old lady I was pissed off as my new shoes from K-Mart got a few holes in them from the dog bites.  Was told at the hospital I was a hero but I didn't feel like it, as I would have done it for anyone.

Shame i didn't get to go on TV and show off the phoenix shirt lol.

Wholly cr@p well done you and I wish your wife a quick recovery, I saw that news story on Facebook earlier.

Shame all the comments on it appear to be pit bull owners more worried that their breed of dog is getting singled out

Thxs and yeah the pit bull owners are there own worst enemy. The owner of these dogs said she didn't believe they attacked anyone.

I might not be popular on this forum but as a phoenix supporter and good person in general(LOL) I wouldn't expect anything less then to help some one in need.

Wait the owner is trying to denied the attack happen, that it was someone elses dogs?

Despite what anyone says, certain pitbull breeds, usually American Pitbull simply have a screw loose and can flip for no reason.

It's not coincidence they are over represented in attack stats - while there are a lot of breeds out there, pitbulls per head have by far the worst attack stats - check this out.

Between 1st September 1982 and 31st December 2014, there were 5460 attacks reported by the press in the U.S. Of these attacks, 593 resulted in death and 3285 in maiming (permanent disfigurement or loss of limb).

Attacks by police dogs, guard dogs or those trained for fight were excluded from the research as were dogs where no breed could be ascertained. Also, only dogs identified by designated animal control officers or other evident expertise were included to give data that is as clean as possible.

154 different breeds or mixed breeds were noted including 18 either purebred or mixed Pitbull breeds. Those 18 pitbull breeds were responsible for 3603 of the 5460 attacks, 308 deaths and 2225 maiming. Effectively, 11.6% of the present dog breeds (pitbull or pitbull cross) were responsible for 65.9% of all attacks, 51.9% of all deaths and 67% of all permanent disfigurement.

Yet we constantly hear, it's the owner, not the breed. In some cases, I'd say this is true but with figures like that, there is simply something about that breed that causes that behaviour.

She first said her dogs wouldnt have done it, Now she is saying there some one else's dogs. The thing is like what was said these dogs do have a screw loose. I've never seen such savage behaviour - ripping apart this 81 year old lady like a piece of meat. It was like watching Nat Geo channel on African wild life.

Royz, that was an extremely brave thing to do. Thank you for trying your best to help someone in distress.

You know of course the 81 year old lady provoked the dogs into attacking her and your arrival just made it worse - That is how the owners of these horrific muts think.

I love dogs but sorry, pitbulls and any cross breed of them need to be removed.....it wouldn't hurt to remove the owners either.
