It's not a banned ad, it wasn't created by Toyota - there's a long story behind it... Toyota's ad agency (Saatchi) tried to play in a new part of the playground (social media) but really didn't have the skills and experience to know what they were doing... it's a right royal cock up... and Toyota is spewing!!!
It was part of a pitch to five ad agencies to show Toyota their capability in the Social Media space - Saatchi's highly original (well, not) idea was to run an ad creating comp with the idea that ppl would create short ad's and post them on YT, etc... surprise, surprise - they didn't - so, Saatchi's went to a few media production companies asking them to produce some "entries" into their competition. This was one of them...
Toyota have now banned Saatchi from their pitch... mumpties!
