I was there in a retro ricky! Great day.. I was in the D barrier for Arcade Fire, Bjork, Shihad (unfortunatly) and Rage. it was ridiculous how much room there was in there! although not wanting to leave for water got very very dry.

My highlights were: ARCADE FIRE (over all), rage (nostelgic value, and damn good), Bjork (very trippy, magical lady - unlike the Rage "hardcore" I was spellbound, and luckily could not hear the chanting... ummm also Shy Child who i had never heard of were great in the boiler room and have since got their CD. Guttered I missed LCD Soundsystem, Battles and Unkle though :(

also, having never seen a proper hiphop/rap show - diz rascal was pretty fun

and how could I forget the electricty guys, whatever they call them selves. they were wicked!

It wasn't either or.  I manged to make it from the far grandstand over to supergroove and only missed one song.  And I know of others who made it over there with plenty of time

I skipped out on Rage half way through to watch a shambolically brilliant Clean set.  I did Rage ten years ago so chose the other option.

Supergroove was easy from the next door stage.

How's my driving? - Whine here

You could of just brought a water bottle in and got the security guards to fill it up, that's what i and many like minded folk did.

Hah, i was one of the "chanters".

Three for me, and two for them.

Haha apparently it was quite loud? had no idea until i was told the next day by a friend in amongst it all.

And about the water, everyone has said that to me, but i tried twice really early on and the guy just looked at me and was like "who do you think i am"?

wrong guy i guess...

Wow that sucks. Should of perhaps tried someone else but that's not on they're there to help out the audience and make them as comfortable as possible which is why they spray you with water to make sure you don't have a heat stroke or something. Not on at all.

Then again he may of just been an angry yid

Oh, just saw this

I was at the Left Wing Political rally as well.

My impressions were that Rage were just mindblowing, and I agree it was the most intense crowd i've been in.

I take issue with Bjork though, I expected crap, was delivered crap for the first 15 minutes and ended up being gobsmacked by the best light show I've seen at BDO.
I think the organisers got it right by putting her before Rage, as not to diminish Rages power.
They learnt from the previous 2 years were Iggy Pop and Muse blew the headliners well off the stage.

My grip was why Shihad were so up the bill. Having seen them for the 4th time, it was basically the same as ever. I got bored.

Tom Morello should stick to his day job, obviously he was only be watched as Rage Against the Machines guitarist rather than the Nightwatchman. Nice to see Serj, and having AntiFlag and Billy Bragg in the wings.

Billy Bragg was superb in his own way, Arcade Fire were religeous, Opshop thought they were U2.

Rage, Billy Bragg, Arcade Fire and Bjork for me
