Beervana

Any of you likely lads and ladesses heading to the TH for a quite woggler and some enlightenment over the next coupla days?

I'm loving the timing... finish work (after lunch at Great India) then four hrs of Beervana, and 60 mins t mosey up to 4Kings to watch some carnage of the white with yellow (and some black) kind. My kinda Friday!

I'm predicting a hat trick of fours... Hours of Beervana goodness, Kings, and Goals (three to us of course)

I know the owner of Sunshine Brewery (maker of Gisborne Gold) so am gonna get along, catch up with him and sample a few brewskies. Looks good

Never have I thrown away so much beer in my life.  Half the breweries didn't even have their beers on tap, serving the wares out of bottles!

Terrible tasting beers, I actually thought NZ was turning a corner when it comes to beer making, but I was wrong, stick to making syrupy IPA's.


Townshends ESB was the only decent beer I tasted, but again it was only marginally better than the lowliest of British Ales such as  Elgoods or the now defunct Mitchells brewery.

i tasted Mike's Whiskey Stout (10.5 ABV) and was hooked- yum
but yeah, some of the beers were flat-

Funny seeing Macashins and Macs nxt to each other!

My thoughts:

No music= fail- a quiet jazz band, or gutarist in a corner would have been nice

Some of the beers= rip off - $5 for 200 mls? get outta town
