Upper Hutts isn't too bad, One of the better ones and kept clean and no sticky floors from spilt drinks. Silverstreams is good too.

Best McDonald's is a contradiction in terms, surely

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

It's a strange topic- I thought the whole point of Maccas was that you got the exact same food whichever one you went to, anywhere in the world.

That's a bit harsh. I was only expressing my opinion.

Me too till I went into one in Austria. Almost the same as here except their MacDonalds actually looked like the items in the bIG photos they use to advertise. Unlike here where your ??Burger looks like it's been run over by a car or two.

They are slightly different around the world.
E.g. Australian ones have a (wait for it) Aussie Burger.
And Italian ones have this weird burger with actual ham in it, I think it's called the Big Pink.
But one McDonalds in Wellington will be pretty much the same as the next ...

The main Lower Hutt Macs is one of the best in the country. Clean, fast and good staff. Never have a bad burger there.
Worst is the small one at Mana Esplanade at Paremata on SH1 - just dreadful!

Australians can't make Big Macs. They're just not the same.

And I'm here to tell you that they really are.
Look, it's clear the only way to solve this is to have a fight.
Meet me behind the gym at St Pats in 15min.

That'll be what's called 'glocalisation' then.
Don't forget beef free Maccas in India etc....
I stress this is not first hand experience; I've only used the one in Paris...for a pit stop over 25 years ago....HarryHotspur2008-01-31 09:23:57

I was recently in India and can recommend the Maharaja Mac Meal.
Actually that's not quite true I wouldn't RECOMMEND it but if you're stuck it won't kill you.
Incidentally maccas is universally sh*t food. Isn't it weird how when you're a kid you think it's the best thing in the world and then gradually as you get older you realise it is actually vile flavourless mush. How do they do that?
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Costs less to only brainwash until the age of 12. Don't need to bribe the governments quite so much.

The "Best McDonalds?" I have been in was on a industrial estate just near Chambery in France. We'd been driving all day, were a bit knackered, and it was late. Clare said "let's go in there." So we went in...
Rather than order we sat down to catch our breath. Woman behind the counter shouted over about us wanting to order. When I replied (my french is "interesting") she immediately recognised the foreigner. Then she left her till and came over asking "are you english?". When we replied inthe affimative she was clearly pleased. Then she explained it was her break coming up and would we like to have coffee, there, with her.
She, I just can't recall her name, brought over three coffees, some fries and some fish burger thing. We spent twenty minutes having a chat. She explained that she never got enough conversational english and that the shift manager was always sympathetic whenever english speakers arrived. The coffee and snack was on the house!

In a lot of the French towns that I have e been to there are no mcds. The councils would only let them be set up OUTSIDE town usually on the industrial estates. That's a lot of them outside town centres but not all.
Nearer home: There was a mcd up in Browns Bay in the early 80s that closed because of LACK of business. Browns Bay I salute you!!
