Lets have your opinion on:
  • Live Music/Entertainment
  • Sport
  • Food
  • Service
  • Value

This could save me thousands in doing my own research

Upper Hutt clubrooms at Harcourt Park

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I was going to post them News, but I thought it was a joke thread and I didn't want the "Stating the bleeding obvious" police coming after me Jag2008-10-07 10:29:47

(Greater Wellington)
For a unique rugby league watching  experience I would recomment the the Victoria Tavern, Jackson Street, Petone. Especially if it's a Friday night match.

Caffe Soprano in Petone may just be one of the best Italian places in NZ. Recommended.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

The Millard Lounge in Temperance is good quality but for me Four Kings is king of all bars. In terms of Food, The Beijing on Riddiford St is amazing. Probably my favourite restaurant.

CBD - Black Harp - Always shows the football, awards loyalty, has live music and the Guinness is
                              sweet as.

J'Ville - Innkeepers - Same as above but rarely has live music.

Only places in the CBD I actively choose to visit are 4 Kings and the BB (for obvious reasons), and Molly Malones. In Newtown, usually Bar Ed. Down the road, good atmosphere, Tuatara...love it

Only places I actively avoid are Temperance (far too pretentious to be a real sports bar, plus the worst staff I've ever encountered) and Sports Cafe (where they kick people out for cheering and are more concerned with being a restaurant than an actual sports bar)

Has anyone noticed any bars in Wellington that warn people, or even throw people out, for snogging on the dancefloor?

Seems kinda weird to me ... like they don't want you to have too much fun ...

Two good club nights are ATOMIC and 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE both at SFBH.  (You get a CD of the night's tunes as well...)

Aside from the obvious, i really like Arizona @ the Intercontinental & Coyotes for weekend brunch's. That Tex/Mex kick is the perfect medicine.
