Anyone got any hints or tips.

Currently considering Quickbooks because they are cheaper than Xero and Myob for the first 12 months.

I use Xero, it works well.

Got a mate who is a good plumber but is technologically challenged, uses Xero and manages to get it to work and keep his business going.

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

The company I worked for in Canada integrated closely with Quickbooks. We all had to become Quickbooks Certified so I used it a fair bit. I have no issues with it and quite like the QB Online offering.

I've not really used Xero so can't offer much of a comparison though I get the feeling that Xero is a more powerful tool and more suited to the NZ environment.

I know a year or so ago when I was doing business with some of the Intuit guys in Colorado they were all pretty worried about Xero for whatever it's worth.

Signed on for 30 day free trail of Quickbooks last night. Looks quite good to me. Not sure I am at a point where I am ready to stump up for a monthly subscription just yet. Need to be bringing in more cash for that to happen.

If you're in need of a CRM so you can record interactions with customers and vendors, create inventory tracking systems, and more give Method a try. It's available through the QB App Store and has a 30 free trial as well. It allows you to do almost everything QBO offers inside the CRM and is very customisable.

There is a demo session you can schedule in but they're based in Toronto so timezones might be an issue.

(Disclaimer: I used to work for them)

Thanks frustr8dstriker.

Definitely looking for a CRM as well so will have to sit down over the weekend with a coffee/wine and take a look at Method.
