I am probally gonna go up and board at Mt Albert Grammer for the Football Academy, with Kevin Fallon to be my coach. I was just wondering, seeing all my friends are down here(and i dont wanna be a JAFFA)do you guys reckon I should go? also are there any decent schools in Wellington that take boarders, are in the Lower Hutt region and have a decent Football academy?

Cheers

You kidding me?
Go to Auckland. Ive heard good things about Kevin, Very tough coach but he knows what's best.
Plus, Auckland Grammar is a decent school.
Just make sure you stay away from war memorials and african youth.
Too soon?

Def go to Auckland bro. A few mates went to MAGS and came back far fitter, stronger, and had a better touch.

@Stefan - Never too soon imo

May I ask why specifically the Lower Hutt region?

There are a few that went and took a couple of years to regain the form and quality they had before they went as well.

Thats the only one I can think of in Lower Hutt. St Pats Stream is kind of in between the two, but technically Upper Hutt.

Has HIBS shifted since I left?

My bad, for some reason I was thinking HIBS was where Hutt High is!

Forgot playing HIBS on the best block in College cricket in Wellington region in the middle of the steeplechase track!

wherever you end up, just make sure that you don't end up having to eat the biscuit.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

That was long gone by the time I got to Silverstream. Gumboots and velcro gloves were still essential though.

pretty much my whole family lives there. whenever I come up for nix games I stay with my Nannie and its about a 5 min walk to Queensgate and my cousins houses. Also one of my cousins go to HIBS, so that wouldve been are good option but Mt Albert Grammer sounds better according to the internet and you guys. So I guess im going there.

does anyone else feel worried that kids are getting advice that will impact the rest of their lives from here?

Although your previous advice in this thread was spot on.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

HIBS is a good school with sound football culture but we don't take boarders so.. no.

Go to MAGS.

I used to go to a boarding school. (A private girls school) HATED IT! Boarding school sucks so much. I don't regret going there because it is a good experience but I didn't last more than a year. I went from a private girls school to Wellington High and am so much happier now.

I wanted to board out of town. Almost did last year. But we don't have enough money combined with the Nix meant I stayed.

I dunno, most of my mistakes made in my younger days were because I never had any decent older role models. Most of the older blokes I knew were off their faces on drink and drugs constantly, the rest were distant working class men who'd never talk about anything.

I'm not saying us older folk on here are ideal role models, far from it, but I'd like to think that we would say something if any of the youngsters were about to make a massive f*ckup.

make sense or am I talking sh*te?

Well, good news on my front. Kevin Fallon had a chat to my Mum on the phone yesterday and he said because I was in the National Talent Centres I should get straight in to the Academy up there, without having to trial. Mum sent the forms yesterday as well and it looks like im a very good chance for Mt Albert..

Well done Tom. You'll have to let us know what Kevin Fallon is REALLY like when you go up there.

Well done Tom. MAGS are by far the outstanding school when it comes to football in this country. if you apply yourself you will have a great chance at making not only their prestigious 1st XI, but open yourself up to opportunities abroad, as lots of ex-MAGS students have received scholarships to play in America.

Well done on making the right choice.

Three for me, and two for them.
