Well, America bombing the living daylights out of them in the early 1970s didn't help either. That whole decade was an absolute tragedy for that country.
There was a good documentary on some of the consequences n Discovery a while back, but unfortunately I can't remember what it was called. So I guess I haven't helped at all...
