Karma probably caught up with him but he was portrayed as quite a funny guy on Underbelly. At least Chopper Read is still going strong.

Any sane actor is going to try and portray a still living pyschopath with some shred of humanity simply out of common-sense lol. I read an interview recently with Chopper where he was raging about bloody Eric Bana no longer taking his calls and he came across as if he'd punch him (at minimun) if saw him on the street

Yeah I feel sorry for his daughter but that's about it, he's a scum-bag and his ex-wife is a scum-bag too. He's very lucky he lasted that long.
I do hope that this doesn't revive any sort of retaliation or excuses for wannabe crims to make a name for themselves by killing an enemy of Carl's...
Be interesting find out who the guy was that killed him and why.

Chopper doesn't have long left apparently himself, cirrhosis of the liver, has already lived longer than the doctors thought and is refusing treatment, says he doesn't deserve it when there are others in need who haven't done the things he's done.

Can anyone offre me a good reason why this story made the front page of today's Dominon Post?
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

I can't give a good reason but I can say it's more interesting (to me) than continuing to hear about delayed flights and this stupid volcano...

Yep did wonder myself ,slightly inetersting from a whats happening elsewhere perspective but hardly local/national news of any significance ,me thinks lazy journalism/Lazy editor!

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

It's a big news story, and Aussie is near NZ, there's your reason!

And nothing was happening in NZ.

And Fairfax made them run the photo.

Doubt there'll be any recriminations, seeing as how all the gangsters are dead. Time for KP to seize control of the streets!

Can you seize control of my street KP and make the arseholes over the back fence turn their stereo down at night? Threaten them with half an exercise bike, stick a horse's head in their beds, whatever, just make the doof doof go away by any means necessary!

One's a hulking, hairy great tattooed thing with an ear missing. The husband's pretty scary too.

If you haven't got the balls to do this thing I'll just have to bring in my mother-in-law from Broadmeadows.

I used the mother-in-law from Bristol (UK) to great effect in a very similar sounding situation a few years back.
