Dogs care about you when you're upset. Cats don't.

I love dogs, and like cats.

Cats are not great.  That's not opinion, it's fact.

Cats are evil, sophisticated, hard as nails and very funny.

Some breeds of dog are ok but I get fed up with their fawning natures and their unpredictable viciousness. It's all about who is the alpha and with that in mind any of them can get nasty.

Cats don't subscribe to that bullsh*t, they are, independent freewheeling folk and that removes the master/servant aspect of the relationship you get with dogs.

Cats are capable of great love and are very loyal, but you have to earn it.

I grew up in a household with both cats and dogs, so it's not like I don't know dogs.

Lastly I can't think of any breeds of cat that are uncool, dogs on the other hand...

haha you're right about poodles FT. Dogs are loyal and love you straight away.

This claims to be a cat, I'm not so sure....

Mr Bigglesworth?

Either is fine by me - they probably taste the same.

Hate dogs.  I did a stint as a postie, got bitten 3 times in the 18 months.  They sh*t all over the footpath, they stink, & they slobber all over you which stinks too.  Prefer cats, but can't keep one because my son is allergic to cat hair.  As a teenager the family had a ginger tom who stayed loyal for his entire 15yrs he was with us.  He was quite "chatty".

And apparently there is a sequel to be released later this year - The Revenge of Kitty Galore!

I would have to go Cats with the exclusion of Labradors who are awesome.

Oh crap... I just voted Cats - cos they have a big Ginga Ling and I've disowned Aker since he went to the dogs.

It's 12 now.

They probably believe in a flat earth as well to be able to dismiss such airtight science.

Dogs are thick.  You call them & they will come to you no matter who you are or what you want to do to it once it gets to you.  You call a cat & it probably won't come to you because it doesn't want to.

All animals are great but they all fit different niches and suit different people.
Dogs are great and so are cats. I personally have always had a cat but I was brought up with dogs and would like one one day when I have some land for it to run around on so that it doesn't have to crap in the neighbour's garden like some people around here seem to think is quite acceptable... oops, slight rant..

Cats and dogs both have their good points and they both piss/sh*t on your carpet when they're young. Dogs just win out because we are about to buy one.

I've attempted to become friends with my neigbours cat but i don't think it likes me very much. Perhaps if i give it some food it will pay more attention to me.

I guess they chose the hardest to spell province!

Never got up to BC and really would like to go there someday.  Have been to PNW a couple of times for work (Nth California, Oregon, Washington).  Washington/Seattle is a place I really like and could see ourselves living over that way.  For some reason (= mostly old growth Douglas fir) BC seems even more alluring.

lol the big problem in the out skirting suburbs of Vancouver and Victoria are that cats and dogs are often eaten by bears, wolves and cougars... tho occasionally so are their owners

Yeah my ex lost her cat a couple years okay, and during that time there were a fair few coyotes wandering around her neighbourhood so it was pretty scary. Fortunately he showed up a few days later.

Cats and dogs being eaten by wolves, cougars and coyotes...

Does anyone see the irony in this?

Dogs are more helpful to humans.  They give Blind people their independence.   I don't see cats being as uselful, and they think they're better than people!
