will be a good game this weekend, i imagine we are going to get our beats but its always fun to watch our massive second rowers take out there frustration on poor defenceless australians, personally this time im hoping for billy slater.
but did anyone see tuipoloooooaaaa on one news tonight talking about the game? god it was quality journalism, talking about gameplans and the tactical side of the game. using the halves and things. massive props to him.

Looking forward to the game.  I thought last year was the centenary test though, and last I checked (may well be wrong) 12 months equalled a year and not a century.

Last year was 100 years since the all golds tour of Uk

This year is 100 years since the ARL started

I'm looking forward to the game, but i think our biggest problem is we never go out to play league the first 15 minutes. We always go out to injure them, then we spend the next 65mins chasing the game. hopefully wayne bennett and steven kearney will sort that out this week.

Kearney sort it out you are having a laugh arnt you.He was a thug when playing so cant see him complaining if his players play the same way. There backline could prove way to classy for our guys unfortunately.

What does surprise me that after 100 years the game is only competitive in 3 countries and of some sort of level in 2 others. Sure they have other countries in the "World Cup" but they all play their league in those 5 countries anyway. Now that is sad, I think even Amercan Football is played in more!!
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

I agree with you on that, its one of those moments that you remember seeing in a game.Something i havnt forgotton or will forgive him for.He seemed to be one of those players who no matter how much crap he did,for some reason he seldom was pinged for it.

Given the efforts rugby have gone to in NZ over the years to suppress the game its a wonder its still played at all here.

After last years test at the ROF, a lot of league players were hoping Rugby Union did kill it off.

Australian halfback Johnathan Thurston has passed a fitness test on his injured ankle and will play in tonight's rugby league centenary test against New Zealand in Sydney.

I grew up cheering for the Kangaroos, mostly because the ARL and the Illawarra Steelers was my introduction to sport fandom. But last year, I decided to cheer for the Kiwis, since they were playing on both their home country (Aotearoa) and my home city (Wellington)

Bad timing eh?

I still haven't forgiven the Kiwis for refusing to play to the best of their ability simply because they wanted a coaching change, and won't cheer for them again until Roy Asotasi is dropped.

Except for Jason Nightingale, I'm totally stoked for him

From foxsports.com.au

NEW Zealand five-eighth Ben Roberts has been ruled out of Friday night's Centenary Test against Australia because of a hamstring strain.

The 22 year-old sustained the injury at training on Thursday night.

Kiwis team manager Gordon Gibbons said Roberts had extensive physiotherapy on the injury, but without sufficient progress.

New Zealand Warriors utility Lance Hohaia will take Roberts' place at the SCG.

We did ok for 60 minutes, which is surprising since we played with no halves.

The performance of the halves was not good, to be fair to Hohaia, who has played fullback for the Warriors this season, looked out of sorts in the unfamiliar position given to him at short notice.

Thomas however, was slow off the mark, uncoordinated and without any invention or length in his kicking game. whenever thurston or cam smith kicked they found space which highlighted a lack of understandng between Jason Nightingale and Brent Webb.

Would have been interesting if Ben roberts had been fit and combined with one of the injured pair of Jerome Ropati or Benji
