Central Pulse's first game of professional netball

Rocked along to the inaugural match of the ANZ Championship (for those who don't know there is a new netball comp- five kiwi teams vs five oz teams). Was pretty cool actually! Not usually the biggest netball fan, on tele not really my thing. The girls lost 50-33 to the Vixens (Melboune)- but they had a bloody good side so the very young Pulse team were always meant to struggle.

The atmosphere there was pretty decent too. We tried to start up a few chants, went alright- but it is definitely no game of footy. They had those banger things that so many on this forum seem to 'love'. But apart from that the was a fair bit of cheering and general noise being made throughout the game. Which is more than I can say about the bloody sh*te ruggers I also went to yesterday...

Did wear my retro ricki and didn't receive a gift (which had been mentioned in the pandemic)- but wasn't too worried. Also four other retro rickis there so good effort. Yarned to one of the organisers at half time who said he was going to try and get a few more of us along to the next game- so thought I'd help out by telling ppl that it's worth rocking along too- game is on at 7pm on Monday the 14th of April- so a couple of beers and then off to the game after work could do the trick.

Also have to mention that towards the end of the match the announncer thanked everyone for coming- then said 'and a special thank you to Wellington Phoenix supporters for coming down today'- pretty good touch.

See a few more of you down there next week!

i was also at the game, funnily enough sitting next to bigtobz and thoroughly enjoyed it. was my first game of live netball and it is quite spectacular live. very quick and very physical.
would recommend everyone try and get along to at least one game. that game next week is vs the southern steel (southland and otago)

3635 is the capacity. So approximately 2423.3333 ppl. Funny because I actually saw the third of a person who was there.

Didn't go to the game but i heard that the Pulse pushed the Vixen throughout the game & the Pulse even won a 1/4.  Good work girls.  If they pushed the tourny favourites maybe we could see a better performance than the old Shakers.

I just have to say that Canterbury Tactix is the funniest name for a sports team ever.

Having said that, I'm seriosuly considering coming to a game or two to check it out.

Did anyone? Also not too worried but yeah, also wore my retro ricki, also saw nothing other than those damn thunder clappers (which I used because hey, it's netball, so it's okay, when in rome et al) and posters.

Still, I wasn't there for the giveaways (as if anyone was ), I was there for the match. Never seen a live netball match, quite enjoyed it, was pretty hard to live up to the basketball the night before but the crowd was impressive and the match quality was defiantly worth going back for. Might look at a season pass next year.

Cause that's soooo why we like the sport.

I wanted to go (used to play actually, anyone here in an indoor netball team and looking for players?) but my footy game was on at the same time, will go on monday night. BB pre game anyone?
