Miss Prozac went to check. Sure enough the password she loaded up two days ago doesn't work. The points for friends that she has referred aren't showing up and she's ready to throw in the towel. In earlier interviews Marc Ellis said he hoped to sign up 100,000 users in the first two days, so you would think they would be prepared, and let's face it user passwords that don't work is a massive muck up. Time for another public apology Marc?
After the initial excitement of getting free stuff from Marc Ellis' new venture Mintshot, it appears the website is experiencing major problems. (Click here for all the latest Mintshot news)
Last night frustrated users complained that the system wouldn't let them log in with their passwords. A small number of lucky users have won free prizes, but many more are dissatisfied that they can't log in, that the auctions all have maximum bids on them making it impossible for anyone to outbid them, and that videos that are slow to play. In short, the system doesn't work.

i had that problem, you just have to click 'forgot password' then they email you a new one, and once you log in with that & spend the next half hour trying to figure out how to change it! (Click update my account) but dont waste your time inviting friends, they havent sussed out how to load the 'bonus' points yet.

Personally Marc cracks me up. Provided me (and may others) with endless entertainment on the tele, and is a very canny businessman- granted a great deal of the success of his company has come through his name- but hey, all good businesses need a competitive advantage of some sought.
As for the Rangitoto stunt, and from a marketers perspective, I thought it was brilliant. To gain that much of a country's attention through a piece of PR is a great effort. Although I understand the ethical issues of such a stunt, to have the balls to follow through with it is amazing- and he had his arse covered (for a change...) on the legal side of things- granted he paid out $2000 in fines, but it was pretty token.
Power to him- great to see such impressive publicity for a product.
As for the drinks- Yeah I'm a fan aye. Only tried the clemetine one, but was pretty decent. Have to try the others at some point I'm a thinking.
