Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

It works well in Brissy, which did a similar thing ten years ago (give or take) and is now the largest city council in Aussie... makes sense... given it's one city lol

As an ex-Londoner I remember them removing the GLC ( Greater London Council) which made London 17% more expensive to run.. realising the" error" (LOL) and going back to a more (not fully) centralised authority.

Auckland will benefit from lower running costs. The duplication of services must be huge.

They've down the same in Sydney a couple of years ago, merged Leichardt, Newtown, Waterloo etc town councils into City of Sydney council

When Hibs, went up, to win the Scottish Cup - I wisnae there - furfuxake!
