Too much effort. Which chippies in Wellington can I get them?

The Sunken Chip on Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt does them.

HN you get the mars bar, dip in batter, put it in freezer for a while, then redip it in batter and then deep fry it. That way it doesn't melt instantly.

The answer to life's problems are rarely found at the bottom of a beer glass - but it's always worth a look.

I believe a Vino de Leccy Soup complements it very well.

....and make sure you eat it with a knife and fork.

BTW, it must be an Edinburgh thing. I'd never seen a deep fried Mars Bar till I came to NZ. In Glasgow I'd seen and eaten, deep fried everything else, including pizza, but never a Mars Bar.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Now don't be silly ,fried mars bars are known historically for their dietary and curative powers  just look at many fine examples of chiseled  athletic  good looking Scotsman through the years! many of them  even on this forum .
No i strongly recommend that you nip down that chippie tonight and have at least five , garnished with chips and brown sauce they are a quick , healthy and wholesome option for the whole family!

Exactly. Now where are they???

The only place in Wellington I've ever seen one is the old place next to regional wines and spirits on the Basin.

Was the lunch stop of choice for Coll Boys prior to Georgie Pie - usually while we were on the way to play some pool round the corner.

Sadly all of the above are now closed.

So you're f**ked basically.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Keeping it in theme then it'll have to be a Kimchi Burger from Lotteria?

I'm not going out to bloody Tawa. We need a Scottish owned chippie. Too many Chinese takeaways running the chippie industry.

I've tried a beef deep bok choy, but is kimchi without the meat? What do you add, garlic, ginger??

The other question is, do the Koreans generally have sticky rice?

yeh sticky rice is fairly much it here. They use a lot of red pepper over here...I don't know the exact recipe, it originally started as something they ate over winter, as it was preserved. Now they eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner everyday. No bull.

I stick to the cornflakes for brekky tho! weetbix if i could.

Well my first rule in life is never turn down a free feed. And the schools all have cooks who make the lunches. Actually it was funny today. They had spaghetti, rice and two different types of kimchi.

Kimchi can also be other pickled or spicy vegetables and there are many variations on the flavour. They are really nationalistic about it, eh.

They used to do those in the chippie at Silverstream, across the road from St Pat's.

Chippy near my old joint used to do DF Mars, but they stopped cause the guy reckoned the chocolate was ruining the oil.

Huge pity
