Okay so I watched "The System" last night on TV2. Derren Brown is an illusionist. He was the one who showed the live lottery claiming he knew what the numbers were going to be. So I YouTubed him a bit more and was amazed. He beats nine of the top chess players in the world, consecutively.

But the most insane thing was "Hero at 30,000 ft."
In this show, Derren gets people to audition for a game show, but he actually plants cameras and actors in the guys life to make him more confident with the end goal of putting him on a plane full of actors and saying the captain is sick and to see if he will land the plane. The guy is also afraid of flying and hasn't flown in ten years.
This is the closest to the Truman Show I have ever seen.

I never believed in hypnotism until one came to my college a few years back.

But it's hardly even hypnotism - he wakes the dude up and then talks to him. You don't just get woken up and think 'well it's still night time, this must be a dream...'

Did you watch this in its entirety Cosimo? Derren Brown is known to say if things are fake or not, or show how he does things. While I understand some things may be exaggerated, this was pretty intense, and a very very good show.
Plus some videos he gets things partly incorrect. In the Chess video he makes a mistake in his number at the end. And in the video where he pays for things using paper, one guy notices it straight away.Luis Garcia2010-12-16 23:32:33
