Good one, and one outside the square!
Make sure you do nominate him, (I can't) - he cannot win if not nominated

I am an organiser of the event- I can suggest people but cannot really nominate.

Trubridge has done really well-it's funny- cos at a bbq the other week talking bout this event someone else mentioned him.

You can fill in a nomination form online, its a writable pdf- save it and then email it in. all the details are on the website. I think what often happens is that people get missed out cos people think someone else will nominate- it only takes 20-30 mins to do it properly. He would be a good candidate so good luck getting it in

JordyBean is a kiwi!

He isn't a dirty Australian like the rest of us wellingtonians. He would be outraged to be included in such wellington filth.

I guess I don't understand the criteria.

PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR  Criteria

"Open to an individual who has brought colour, passion or flair to the culture of sport, either on or off the field. The winner will be decided by a peoples choice promotion in The Dominion Post."

In this instance it was decided that it was no the individual, but rather collective, personality of the code.

Thought so.

So it was a bending of the criteria somewhat? I don't really care, just pointing out that it's odd!

'probably' being the only person on here who has participated in Roller Derby I'll say it's boring as f**k but still a sport - just one with costumes. Still has loads of rules and the purpose is to beat the other team. what makes it not a sport?

It is a sport - I agree.

I just wouldn't call it an individual with personality  the nomination struck me as odd.

According to rugby players in NZ in the past (and some now) football/soccer is just an excuse for gays to prance around a green field...

Note to self: footy fans find stockings, bodices and short skirts 'silly'
