edit: My G+ is http://tinyurl.com/3uvjver

I have a weird relationship with Facebook. It started off pretty well, I was predictably hooked on it in 2006 when I saw something that was as good as MySpace, but not as cluttered.

Throughout this time I have seen it morph into a mirad of privacy and UI changes that have caused me to through mini, and rather pathetic tantrums and disable my account. There was a set of changes last year that brought changes to the 'news feed' which led me dangerously close to the 14 day 'deletion' timeframe, before I caved in on day 12 and reactivated my profile.

After that I thought that would be that. But as Facebook gears up to go public, there is that underlining concern that investors will be wanting to exploit 750 million potential customers, and that could put our information at risk.

Along with that, that latest changes have again been dumped upon users who are not as up to speed with the social media news reports as nerds like myself are, there seems to be a pattern emerging.

Regardless of these fears, I would be willing to continue with Facebook. However looking at my newsfeed (ignoring pretty much every post from my 'friends' complaining about the new look), I find it extremely cluttered, extremely difficult to navigate compared with that 2006 version.

Yes, there is now that annoying newsfeed within the news feed. Why?

I left MySpace to join Facebook because I don't like a cluttered space. Ironically MySpace is now looking a lot more cleaner than the Facebook newsfeed page, and if these Timeline profiles are going to be rolling out (as is planned) then I have no real reason to stay.

Other than the friends I have on Facebook. The big draw of Facebook is that everyone is using it. Yesterday Facebook reported that there are 800 million active Facebook accounts. No one is on my G+ because people don't quite understand it. G+ has 20 million active accounts. Now that G+ is in open beta that might change.

I'm going to give Google+ a good go I have decided. There might not be as much action on there, but maybe I will get less annoying posts in my news feeds like "STOP BEING A DICK! GRR YOU MAKE ME SO MAD" and "Change back to the old feed!" and getting countless game app requests.

ick, sorry about the stupid large image and other stupid mistakes. I can't seem to edit again. I blame Mark Zuckerberd.

Without facebook I'd never know that Red Bull is a functional beverage.
