And don't vote bloody Wolverine...

Watched Capt America, film and remembered when I was about 4 he was my fav, but after I got to about 8 I went off him.

No order but:

Not a high profile Marval character but I like him:

and his missus

I loved Thor and Silver Surfer too.

Actually this guy is the best:

Whilst I hadn't forgotten Viz, I had forgotten Rude Kid.

Finbarr Saunders was probably my favourite, I still remember a Roger Mellie one featuring a new game show he had devised called "Celebrity sh*t in a bucket" where celebrities climbed a step ladder and tried to, as you have no doubt guessed, sh*t in a bucket. The winner was the one who got the highest. Basically, he predicted what TV has now turned into and i'm sure Daniella Westbrook will be hosting it soon somewhere..

I'm slightly disappointed!

Also celebrity ringpiece.

All the Viz characters are classics, so hard to pick a favourite.

Not a true "comic strip character", as he's a one-off.  But still, he's worthy of the occasion.

Mike Mansell - and his twin brother Carl.  They're half German, and together, go on a camping trip to Germany just before the war.  Carl, very much the problem child of the two, falls in love with the Hitler Youth and wants to stay.  He get's German citzenship with the help of a Hitler Youth Leader - Manfred Kummer  - whose uncle is a Nazi bigwig.  Mike, British to the core, is disgusted, and gives Kummer a right thrashing upon leaving.

Mike, now on a ship home  - which is quite unfortunate - as WWII starts.  His ship is torpedoed.  Mike is rescued.  Immediately, he joins the RAF to teach the Nazis a lesson.

Mike, is such a natural fighter pilot, that he is able to bring down a ME-109 in his unarmed trainer during flight school!

Once in combat, Mike shoots down Nazis for fun over North Africa in his Hurricane.

In an ironic twist of fate, Carl is himself a fighter pilot - for the Luftwaffe!  Carl is sent to North Africa to deal with Mike's pesky squadron (Carl, of course, has no idea that Mike is a member of it).

Eventually, this is all bad news for Carl, as Mike manages to shoot his ME-109  down.  Carl parachutes to safety, whereby Mike immediately recognizes him!  Upon Carl's safe landing, Mike buzzes over and drops hims a cheeky mesage: "Adolf should made you a better plane instead of so many speeches"!!!  Carl, filled with rage, plots his revenge.

As Mike is such a valuable RAF asset, he is transfered back to Britain to test fly the RAF's newest aircraft - "Jet One" (a Gloster Meteor prototype).

Kummer, now a S.S intelligence officer, knows all about Mike, Jet One, and it's war winning potential.  Kummer hatches a plan whereby Carl is sent to Britain in secret, pretend to be Mike (Mike will be taken out before his arrival), hijack Jet One, and fly it to Germany for inspection.

Unfortuately for Carl, this complicated plan goes all wrong.  Mike was able to foil his attempted murder.  And Carl was far too much of the "German military type" to fool Mike's commanding officer when he pretended to be Mike.

Carl is imprisoned in a local RAF jail.  Mike's commanding officer, realising that Carl's mission was to steal Jet One, then comes up with his own audacious plan - to waste Kummer and half of the S.S intel using this great aircraft!

Mike does this of course (along whith taking out some Dorniers and some German transports for good measure).

While this is all happening, Carl manages to escape and and steal a nearby Hurricane.  But on his way home (just over Channel - as Mike was returning) he is shot down by an "enemy" ME-109 in front of Mike's eyes!

Mike would evetually learn of his brother's fate.  But he had to move on, as his death meant that there was one less Nazi to fight.

The best Commando comic ever written.  And that's saying something, as there's been many.
