Hopefully be able to get over to lake ferry and Ocean Beach as the weather starts to gets better

I've discovered the Fishmonger Genius.  It's great.

Its already doing quite well out that way, hearing of plenty of people coming away with 10 fish each after a couple of hours. Mostly kahawai, spiny dogs, red cod. 

Yep its bloody awesome over there.Good fun in the river mouth with light rod and a spinner. ..some massive kahawai

Bluecod 34cm, Tarakihi 36cm, didnt measure the other two because no size applies

Maybe 2 1/2 hours one evening? I caught probably half a dozen smaller blue cod too which went back. I think berley is the secret when fishing off the rocks. Cant wait until summer when the snapper start showing up

Seen this thread, I'm looking at hiring a charter for a stag do and wondered if you guys could suggest anyone? Looked at Pete Lamb (as they had been on the Treat Me website recently) but they are away the weekend of the stag do.

I was going to say Pete Lamb - have been out on his launch and its all good. Don't have any experience with other charters unfortunately

There are a couple that operate out of the Seaview Marina. I know nothing about them other than that they operate out of the Seaview Marina!

First snapper of the season landed last night of the rocks at Lyall Bay, airport side. Took half a paddle crab with shell removed

Outstanding. We should have a Fever Fishing competition - or just another excuse for getting together.
