Cowboys are as good as gone. Can't defend the pass rush, can't run the ball, regular holes on defence, often caught out on the hand off to the rb. Gone.

Its not Romo's fault when his O-line are waving the Defenders through, and including the TE stepping out of the way one time.

Chargers kicker 1/4. Don't think he'll be back next year

Edit: Chargers not colts aitkenmike2010-01-18 16:20:02

Kaeding 0/3 missed some close relatively easy ones too really was the difference. The Jets are through, was a poor game. They should get rolled by the Colts.

3/4 guessed right last week. I think the Vikings pass rush will get to Romo so Vikes to get the win (even though I'm not a fan of flip flop Fav-re), Saints to out shoot Cards in the Super dome.

Vikes pass rush is overhyped. If any QB gets pummelled into the ground, it'll be Favre.

Picking Saints v Cowboys and Colts v Chargers for Championship games.

Shows how much I know. Cowboys were absolute garbage today, they may as well have had a turnstile instead of an O-line.

Wasn't impressed by Vikes running up the score...showed a real lack of class there.

And Chargers choked big time - that should have been comfortable for them.

Praying for a Saints v Colts Superbowl...would be absolutely fantastic.

4/4 for me this week. Championship games are a bit tougher. I'm picking a Saints Jets superbowl.

Indy look to have this. Jets need to pick up here and get a stop and a decent drive.

Wow Saints D look rather average on that drive, so easily picked apart, need to get more pressure in the backfield.

And Farve throws a pick with 10 seconds to go!!! Could have run it into field goal range and got over the sideline easy for the mid range field goal to win. Gonna be overtime.

Saints won the toss. I think around 65% of the time the coin toss winner wins.

Going to the Superbowl. Hell yeah.

Agree with Terry Bradshaw that Payton called a terrible game offensively. Luckily we were able to force the turnovers. Also helped we saw the return of old Favre on the Vikings last possession. Literally threw the Superbowl away with that throw.

watched some of dat today- good sport drama

is there any other game where a player can be involved for 2 secs and be regarded the hero?
Sure the kicker fellah had a great cameo,  literally won the game, but what about the linebackers and defensive ends who bled on the field?

but, still, great drama

Super Bowl looks like it will be a cracker. The match up I wanted, early odds show that bookies are picking a close game the spread is Colts fave by 4 points and the over/under is 56.

Colts have been one of my favourites for a while, love to see Manning get another SB, considering how many post season games he lost earlier in his career. Probably been a better storyline with Manning vs. Favre game, but the Peyton Manning vs. Drew Brees is still two premier QB's matchin up.

Side note: anyone disappointed that Screamin' A Smith is now on Fox Sports after radiosport closes, miss Steve Czaban nonsense shows within the show.

I actually think it's the perfect storyline - Peyton against the team his dad played for, and the team which he supported when he was a kid. The New Orleans native Peyton Manning vs. the New Orleans Saints. Perfect. Read an brief interview with Peyton's oldest brother Cooper, and he said the family will have difficult time figuring out who to support in the game (Archie and much of the Manning family still live in New Orleans).

Also thought it was perfect that Favre's season (I hesitate to say the career because you never know with him) finished on the note that epitomised his career. Making a bone-headed throw coz he wanted to be a hero, rather than doing the smart thing and giving his team the best chance to win.

Interesting note Saints run in to Super Bowl, Beat Arizona with
Kurt Warner a 2 X MVP,
then beat Bret Favre 3 X MVP
and now face 4 X MVP Peyton Manning, all are probably Hall of Famers.

Idiots question;

how come when the offense fumbles the defense can run it, buit sometimes they can't? i.e. when can you intercept from a fumble and when can't you?

Expect more idiot questions over the next two weeks-o joy!

Not sure what exactly you're asking, but firstly Intercept is when a defender catches a quarterbacks (or passer), fumble is when a player has possession then drops it (knock-on like).

If a player drops a forward pass from the quarterback drops is when the receiver doesn't have full control then it is an incomplete. If its a hand off, pitch or lateral (pass backwards, or lateral pass is in open play) then if the players drops it, it is a fumble. confused?

Think you answered it- the key word is possession, i.e. if they don't have posession and they drop it the defence cannot pick it up and run with it.

Just to further muddy the waters, you can also fumble once you catch the forward pass from the QB and establish possession. The receiver then becomes a runner, and loss of possession from that point on results in a fumble.

Also, there's what they called muffs - this happens on special teams when the opposition kicks/punts the ball to the receiving team, and the ball touches the player from the receiving team (usually because the receiver failed to catch the kick/punt and dropped it, but not necessarily) without hime getting possession, the ball is then live and can be recovered by the kicking/punting team, but cannot be advanced.
