Fever NHL / Ice Hockey Thread, eh!
Loving the comments of the IIHF president on the NHL Commissioners's (moronic as usual) suggestion that 2010 may be the last to feature NHL players - http://www.ctvolympics.ca/hockey/news/newsid=17377.html?cid=rsstsn
Cheerings for Boston today - I'm a Cubbies fan, but I've got a soft spot for the Red Sox (the better Sox ) and Irish ancestry so Bruins it is!

The biggest ice hockey event of this year will start on February 17 at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Three is the magic number, so let us have Russia Canada megafinal for the third consecutive time.

Really starting to regret not going to Canada now - I've got an ex in Vancouver I could stay with. Ah well.
Hoping to see Canada beat Russia for the gold!
And the American Mens were up 18-0 on china as well just before, or something ridiculously similar

Q: If SLC and Seattle both got teams, and Calgary kept theirs, who'd you cheer for?
That match never happened. Hence, that car winning thing is a hoax
Quality own goal.
Dear Keith Ballard
Please signed for the Maple Leafs and keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
The other 5 Canadian franchises*
*(6 if you count Detroit)
The Newfie in me agrees, but it's not the best sense commercially. I'd rather see Ville de Qubec and Winnipeg gets teams first, as well as Hamilton. Maybe with enough population and economic growth, Halifax could support a team.
CFL, however, should defo place a team there (or in Moncton as an alternative). Just not before they bring back the Rough Riders

I thought you'd still stick with Ottawa! I should too since I've actually been to Ottawa and have not set foot in Pittsburgh.
Though IMHO, the Coyotes could better create a team culture with a name and logo change. My suggestion:
look who is playing in a few short hours...
who would think I'd get to say C'mon Phoenix so soon and go Sydney's Penguinslook who is playing in a few short hours...

Game one - Ottawa 5, Pittsburgh 4. Managed to catch the last fifteen minutes of it. Pittsburgh's last goal was pretty decent, but fortunately not enough to change the result!
