The new NHL conference format, to take effect next season, has been announced:

A - Anaheim, Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton, LA, Phoenix, San Jose, Vancouver
B - Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Minnesota, Nashville, St. Louis, Winnipeg
C - Boston, Buffalo, Florida, Montreal, Ottawa, Tampa, Maple Laughs
D - Carolina, New Jersey, NYI, NYR, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington

Obvious mistake - they suggest the Coyotes will still be around next season...

Detroit beat LA 8-2. Managed to see some of the match at Four Kings tonight. Good timing, since the Nix performance on the screen next to it certainly wasn't worth watching...

It's the first tiem the Kings have conceeded 8 goals since 2007 when the Evil Bruins beat them 8 - 6 at the Staples Centre.

Meanwhile, Martin is gone. *sigh* This can't help. Well, maybe it can? But it's far from ideal. Iwant to force Molson to repackage to a 5 x 5 carton.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Glad to see HBO has brought back the 24/7 series!

Love the build up to the Winter Classic matches, and these behind the scenes doco's are great.

I'd agree with 3/4 of that

Sens lose Game 7. Gutted, but hell of a season for a team expected to finish near the bottom of the table. Now to wait and see if Alfie retires - personally I hope he plays for us until he's 120...

So Hockey is back, are there any other Hockey fans still out there in the World of Yellow Fever?

I was very happy watching 6 hours of Hockey on the weekend, started with the Sky coverage (Which seemed to flick between Kings vs Hawks & Pens vs Flyers early on), and then streamed the game as I watched my Devils beat the Islanders 2-1.

Hoping Sky will have a bit more coverage than last season, though the lack of half a season is not a good way to get the fans watching.

I've only seen a few games, but really enjoyed it. I think I want to support the Predators, cos they're yellow.
Did the Predators win?

If you can get into it, it is a really excellent sport to follow.

Predators lost in a Shootout on Saturday & again today. So 2-2 & 3-3 at end of 3 periods followed by shootout losses, be a bit disappointing so far, but at least they aren't losing straight up (Overtime/Shootout losses are worth a point)

Yeah I was looking at the NHL table before. I didn't realise the point of overtime thing. Who do you support? Which players are really good?

Is this the Maple Leafs year?!?!?! No, it won't be, but I'm still half-following their progress (Phil Kessel is god).

I support the New Jersey Devils, kinda been full circle for me this year, I first started watching/following in 1993/94, picked the Devils as they had a tough defense, I liked the way they played, Then 94/95 was a half season lock-out and the Devils won the Stanley Cup in the shortened season.

The Maple Leafs, wow they have had some bad luck over the seasons, just can't really buy a trick.

I've decided to support the Jets, not the sexual predators.

Good win over the Penguins.

Well happy with the Devils start, a bit gutting to come back today to 3-3 and lose in overtime at Montreal, but with Clarkson, Elias, Zajac & Kovi scoring the team looks good enough for another playoff run. And I am very impressed with our youngsters as well, will be even better when Henrique is back.

Ugh last post and the Devils looked good.

Soo much for that, out of the playoffs.

Oh well, just had a look through the Sky guide for the next week and there is not a single game on. The Playoffs are here and NZ has absolutely zero coverage, bloody awesome. I just want to watch Hockey DAMN YOU!

Am really enjoying this Stanley Cup final match-up, Chicago and Boston are both showing why they were the two teams to make it to the finals. Big hits, good shots, great goals, very good goalkeeping what a series. And we're only at the end of the 1st period of game 1.

I'm hoping the Blackhawks win it.  Since my other 3 teams choked.  Series is levelled.

Where is Robb Watson these days????

I just want 7 games now, and even better would be OT in game 7 to decide it, this series has been awesome, excellent fr the neutral.

Pretty even teams, will be closely fought.

Go Blackhawks!

Anyone watching the Playoffs? Bruins (Go the Bruins) into the second round against the Habs (Fuck the habs) who swept the lightning. St Louis who looked like they we're going to be president's trophy winners until they lost their last six and didn't even win their division have gone out to the blackhawks.

Dallas looking like they will tie their series up with anaheim at the moment, 3-3. If columbus (3-2 down vs the penguins) can get it to game 7 anything can happy with fleury's form. The Kings looked like they were going to get swept but they've won the last 2 to be down 3-2 with game 6 in LA. Could see that series and colorado/Minnesota and rangers/flyers all going to 7.

the playoffs so far in general have been great, got NHL gamecenter and have watched quite a few games. goals and overtime game galore, loving it.

Matt "Froyo" Fraser with the game winner, in overtime no less. a playoff debutant, doesn't get better than that.

shutting down Subban was key today, that guy is just a beast. the so called bruins "fans" the other day with the racist remarks were shameful.

Hmmm, suffering now. Losing Carey Price was a disaster. Being 0 - 2 on the road to MSG is far from ideal. I have not lost the faith yet, BUT it IS a long way back from here. But then again, that's why we play 7 game series... The fat lady has not sung just yet.

Crimmany, the second period of game 5 today was a roller-coster ride!

Started it 2 - 1 up, crusing at 4 - 1 up, then level at 4 - 4, finished the second period leading 5 - 4. Crikey!

Final score 7 - 4 to the Habs.

Series now 2 - 3, off to game 6 to see if the Habs can force a game 7.

It's still hockey season in Montreal! How's the camping season going in Boston?
