I doubt you'd find too many places in New Zealand that had A Serbian Film on DVD. You'd have to download it.

Here is the plot for those not wishing to watch it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Serbian_Film#Plot

I haven't seen it. Refuse to. But my mates did and gave me a full run down. I honestly question how any film could be worse than this. Rape - and gay rape and that! incest, new-born porn. F**king filth. Serbia would be very disappointed that the title associates this film with the entire country. Btw, my friends said it was actually well done and had a plot.

Actually WTF??

A Serbian Film makes Human Centipede look like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. No comparison intended.

The human centipede wasn't as bad as i was expecting after hearing what other people had said.

I finally got round to watching Casino last night with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone. Was a really top notch movie

One of my favourite Scorsese films, I like it better than Scarface. Actually I like most of his films more than Scarface; Departed, Gangs of New York, Shutter Island.

But not that big a fan of 'The Color of Money' 'Raging Bull' 'Taxi Driver' (Might give the last two a second watch)

Sadly I watched the "trailer' It didn't look as bad as the comments written about it. Worse though, is that I read the Wiki page on it and I have to say, it sounds seriously sad. one i wont be rushing out to see despite enjoying foreign subtitled films. Havent seen Centipede either and dont want to.

Shock movies like that I see little point in even if they do manage to scrape together something vaguely resembling a plot.  Degradation isn't art.  And same here with regards to the Human Centipede. loyalgunner2011-02-14 20:15:31

I like how ends up selecting Benson and Hedges after he writes his selection on the back of a cigarette packet.

Try the shoot out scene in the Guggenheim Museum in The International. Basically the assassin and the cop have to fight their way out. Blood everywhere.

Human Centipede is just a crap film. It is a yuck idea, but it's so poorly made and low budget that the film has more comedic value than horror.

They are making Human Centipede 2, with a 12-person centipede and they reckon it will be the worse film ever made. - Doubt it.

Obviously the people making those statements haven't heard of A Serbian Film. Clearly the trailer isn't that bad, it's YouTube! Try watching the trailer on IMDB, is a bit more full on. But there is nothing that could be worse than A Serbian Film. Nothing can be worse than that unless it's a doco.

I'm tipping the next big kiwi film to be Two Little Boys. Bret McKenzie and Hamish Blake are the two lead actors and two of the funniest men in Australasia. Currently in the process of filming now.

Haven't seen that one but I saw Buried and it is very good.  Always a bit worried that a weak romantic comedy would break out, like The Proposal (due to Ryan Reynolds being the main actor), but it didn't and was a good film.

Funny how he had cellphone reception underground in Iraq. Haven't seen it though.

Saw this two school holidays ago. It was good, although the Aussie accents were a bit of a hoot!

It's a kid's movie. Wouldn't see it if not with some (oh the shame) - sort of like a bird version of lord of the rings.

The people who put him there wanted him to have it so he must've been not particularly deep at all.  I don't actually know ow deep you'd need to be to have reception cut out, though, anyone know?

Don't ever make the terrible mistake of reading the last one. Films like this should never have been made. The director must be f'd in the head*

Ryan Reynolds is one of men who I would allow to do things to me (along with Seth Meyers and Bradley Cooper) so I was pretty keen to see this film.  Amazing concept, and pretty well done as long as you do not try to over analyse the logistics of it all (I don't know if you can get mobile signal underground in Iraq, and I don't really care - it is a film).  Tough job for Reynolds to be on screen in a coffin for pretty much the entire film, but the whole thing is well enough scripted, directed and acted to carry it off.  It is not the greatest film ever made (that is Van Wilder), but it is well worth taking the time to watch

Also watched 127 Hours.  I must say, I'm very much over all the reviews of movies these days which say how shocking they are and how people had to be treated by medics on stand-by.  It really wasn't that bad at all.  Rec was far scarier but still nowhere near scary enough to justify what I read about an Auckland gentleman defactaing himself in the cinema while watching it.  Just so misleading it's irritating.

I saw Rec on SBS one night, without having a clue what it was about. All I thought was "wtf is this sh*t? Some film about a reporter and some firemen? Ah well, she's hot and it's a foreign film on SBS late at night, so I'm half a chance to see her boobs"

Needless to say, I sh*t myself.
