Yeah, I really enjoyed Ted too. Loved the thunder song.
Film recommendation.
Our DVD player died on us a while back, so we lashed out (well only $47 - so just a small lash) on a new one on sale which can play region 2 DVDs.
Watching Zhang Yimou's "Hero" with the incomparable Maggie Cheung Manyuk.
Jet Li also not too bad, but he's not really my type.
THought Ted was decent, without being great. It just wasn't quite polished enough for me.
Just watch the Rambo quidilogy tonight. Good times.
I really liked Ted, even though I can't stand Mila Kunis. Giovanni Ribisi was great, and I just love Seth McFarlane's humour.
Watching "Iron Man" on TV3 atm - very amusing.
Went and saw Total Recall. I really enjoyed it. Had heard mixed reviews and maybe thats because people have compared it to the original. It has very few similarities with the original and the best thing is to judge it as a movie on it's own without making comparisons. Thats what I did and thought it was a great action movie. Kate Beckinsale is gorgeous in it as well.
Someone loved Kate beckinsale so much they ripped her off the standee and took her home!
Watching "Let the bullets fly" on Ch29 (CTV9). Very enjoyable and clever.
Googled " Kate Beckinsale" yesterday. Man she's hot!! The chick here at work thinks so too.
I feel like a laugh tonight so I'm watching "Doom" on TV4 over Graham Norton on TV3.
Edit: 20 mins in and it's brilliant. Dialogue of Coleridge proportions.
Looper. Top flick.
Looper. Top flick.
Not sure if I've already said this but I only recently watched 12 Angry Men...loved it.
Looper. Top flick.
Well there's obviously the odd plot hole, it's a time travel movie. But imo the measure of a good time travel movie is how well it smooths over the inevitable cracks with good characters, story lines, visuals etc. And this one does pretty well in that regard.
School holiday, sh!t weather viewing: LOTR Two Towers.
The Hobbit trailer looks like LOTR.
New in flight safety video coming:http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/oct/13/hobbit-new-zealand-tourism
I watched Chopper again over the weekend starring Eric Bana and much like Once Were Warriors, I found myself laughing hysterically when maybe I shouldn't have been.
It was probably the fact that Chopper kept coming out with lines that Heath Franklin has now made famous.
Breaking dawn: part 2
Just kidding.
The Intouchables
Brilliant, true story.
Skyfall. Oh my word.
I've got to admit - this whole Hobbit mania is somewhat cringeworthy. But whatever. Maybe I'm just not into it. I mean, I watched the first Lord of the Rings thingie, and I gave up after 30 minutes and bought tickets to Blackhawk Down instead - which was awesome.
I've got to admit - this whole Hobbit mania is somewhat cringeworthy.
Cloud Atlas.
Must be some book to read.
House of Fury on Ch 29 (CTV 9).
Quite funny, very Hong Kong.
Die Hard et. al.
Gonna dominate the set this weekend.
Quadrilogy.
Quadrilogy.
Bodyguards & Assassins.
Powerful.
"Fire In Babylon" & "Senna".
I watched (and enjoyed) Ruby Sparks the other day.
Thoughts on The Hobbit?
He's very obliging, but I wish he would re-print "Wgtn Till I Die" shirts.
Wumbo said "The hobbit is a mix of utter boredom and amazingness." And I'm inclined to agree with him (which is usually against my better judgement).
Another slapstick HK wudapian on tonight (ch29): "Tracing Shadow".
It's got a Mandarin soundtrack but still funny.
Platoon on one of the Sky movie channels tonight. My favourite Vietnam war movie.
