HoC is very very good. Love it, though its a bit intense for the wife, so I have to watch it when she's not around.

Season 3 has just been released on Netflix. Can't wait to get into it.

Yeah will certainly get into it this winter. 3 seasons to watch in quick succession would be sweet.

already seen it way too many times LG - one of my favourite films, and even Minnie Driver is halfway decent in it.

Finally got around to seeing The Grand Budapest Hotel last night, and was pretty underwhelmed. I usually don't like Wes Anderson films, but other people who also don't like Wes Anderson films said that they enjoyed this one so I gave it a go. It was a textbook Wes Anderson film.

Frankie have you seen The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel? The first one I thought was quite funny. Bill Nighly is a great actor as they all are I guess.

Just finished Spike Lee's doco "when the levees broke" about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans.

So highly recommended. I was aware New Orleans got fudgeed over but had no idea to this extent. A city totally given up on by their government.

Finally watched The Doors last night after all of these years (came out in about 1991 I think).

Gives a new perspective to the music and lyrics. I wouldn't say a new appreciation of the music but certainly adds a darker tone to everything.

Saw "Still Alice" a few weeks back.

Good film and a good insight into Alzheimers and its effects.

Read "no one here gets out alive" by Jery Hopkins. It goes down the rabbit hole a lot further. Very good.

Val Kilmer did a pretty good job and I believe he actually did the singing throughout too.

Have been watching "It's always sunny in Philadelphia". Very funny, and highly recommended, especially if you enjoy laughing at how terrible people can be to each other (similar to Seinfeld in that respect). A bit slow for the first season, but then really gets going.

Went to see Chappie a while ago, with low expectations. Some terrible acting, terrible characters (big names, were a waste), story and arch where bad too. But enough stupid quotable lines and visually stunning to be fun, Die Antwoord were funny (intentionally and unintentionally).

Being school Holidays went to see yet another animated movie, "Home". Featured the bloke Sheldon from Big Bang Theory as an alien (a nice cuddly one) and the part seems to have been basically written for him. A few giggles but certainly no Shrek or Toy Story.

Cool, I bought Paddington for my 4 year old and his younger sister yesterday. It looks like the same type of cinema photography as in that movie "Hop" which we have.

Just watched Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait

It's a bit pretentious but interesting... multiple cameras just follow Zidane in a 2005 game for Real against Villarreal. A totally different look at a game of football to what you normally see.

It did remind me both how good he was, and how stacked with stars that Galacticos team was: Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Raul, Beckham....

John Matrix: Where is she, Sully?

Sully: Kiss my ass!

John Matrix: I can't hear you!

Sully: I'll say it a little louder, get fudgeed!

John Matrix: [holds Sully upside-down over a cliff by his leg] Listen, loyalty is very touching. But it is not the most important thing in your life right now! But what IS important is gravity! I have to remind you Sully, this is my weak arm!

Sully: You can't kill me Matrix! You need me to find your daughter!

John Matrix: Where is she?

Sully: I don't know. But Cooke knows, I'll take you to where I'm supposed to meet him!

John Matrix: But you won't.

Sully: Why not?

John Matrix: [holds the hotel key he stole from Sully that Cooke is staying at] Because I already know. Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last?

Sully: That's right, Matrix! You did!

John Matrix: I lied.

Yea he did ok with some of the technology, the tablets in particular were impressive. I even see that Samsung tried to use that in their defence against Apple in court - saying if they were copying Apple then Apple were just copying 2001: A Space Oddysey.

Clever defence!

The music and visuals were what had me in that film, never thought watching space ships boringly trawl through space could be so entertaining.

After watching this Interstellar now comes across as pretty un-original to be fair.

I could go on, there were so many amazing scenes and clever bits, it was really really good. The ending had me sitting there for 10 minutes pondering.

Kubrick was a genius.

I'm glad someone else sees Interstellar as un-original. I've probably watched too much sci-fi and Interstellar just came across as a bit of a pastiche of the genre when I watched it. And there was a whole speech about hope that seemed like it was lifted from the third Nolan Batman. But good on him for recycling.
