I thought A History of Violence was quite good?
You asking me?
Eastern Promises was fairly good. Seems that since then Mortensen has gotten nude with a breath-taking regularity.
If you like your women to look 14 and anorexic. And Kat Dennings is hot, imo.
Of, Film fest films would suggest Exit through..., American: the Bill Hicks story was ruined by crappy animation of photos. Runways was just average.

Also watched Brooklyn's Finest last night (although I fell asleep with about half an hour to go). Nice idea for a film, but some terrible casting (Richard Gere as the grizzly old alcoholic cop just days from retiring? He wakes up clean shaven!) and the small fact that it is just a bit crap ruins it a bit for me.
I found the plot a bit confusing.
And yes. Terrible casting.
Yeah, I see Daniel Craig is now attached as Mikael Blomkvist, Stellen Skargard as Martin Vanger and an unknown called Rooney Mara as Lisbeth. Maybe subject to change though
So apparently they're making a hollywood version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo..
Anyone seen Scott Pilgram yet? heard some good things but trailer doesn't look that promising.
I also see Avatar re release (or as a new release) back into cinemas with a MASSIVE 8 minutes more footage. Talk about milking it, although I will probably go see it as I only saw the original in 2D.

Saw it last night, and it is incredibly good. The trailers didn't do it justice. I was cynical because I thought Michael Cera couldn't pull off the character, and while I still maintain his difference from the graphic novel version, his version was still great for the story. Ending was pretty good too given they had to come up with their own since the last book hadn't been published when they started production. Defo a must see, had a great time.
jesus. that's f**ked up.
It played at the film festival a few weeks back.. Not too upset I missed it!

Felt like throwing up my breakfast after reading that.

Yeah I want to see the centipede movie I must say.
The Road just came out two days ago on DVD and it is very, very good. Viggo Mortensen back to his best after the disgrace that was A History of Violence.
I thought A History of Violence was quite good? A bit weird, being a Cronenberg movie not unexpected, but good.
I saw Scott Pilgrim vs The World tonight...pretty good I thought, definitely original and quite a few good laughs.
Watching some older films again at the moment.
I watched Nick and Nora's infinite playlist last night - I thought it was pretty good, although I found Nora a bit of a pain in the ass, and his ex Triss as hot as a really hot thing.
Also watched the Basketball Diaries which was a great book and not a bad film.
Grosse Point Blank is one of my favourite films of all time (along with 6 Degrees of Seperation, Casablanca and So I married an axe murderer) - even Mimi Driver is bearable.
Red Dragon just starting now which I would watch again but I have to go out.
Step Brothers.
Watching it now. f**king crack up.

Grosse Point Blank was not only an excellent movie but had a wicked soundtrack too!

Is it wrong to say I do?
I keep meaning to say that I loved 500 days of Summer when I saw it a few months ago - great film, great sound track, great fun.

Nah, no prob. Also, if you want to see her play more crazy, she features in a quite a few eps in Entourage (season 6).
seen them all.
She is a right little minxy thing

Man on wire.
The story of Philippe Petit's wire walk between the world trade towers. The only person to do it.

THE EXPENDABLES
Quality.
saw Grown Ups last night - quite funny in parts as it is mainly old guys ripping on each other, but got seriously wanky and full of smultz (which is a bit like Smeltz, but more northern).
Not sure what Adam Sandler is trying to do with this "I'm an actor" phase he seems to be in (this film after Funny People).
was watching Jaws 3 last night (in 2D). Being drunk really helped.
Salt = Crap. Don't see it
it also clogs your arteries
has anyone seen this?
The Departed
Shutter Island

I thought it was good for that type of movie, like a female jason borune.
Still think Inception is one of greatest movie ever!
Anyone going to see Piranha 3D? Worst film ever, could be good for laughs.
Ok, I think I'm the only person in the world who didn't think inception was that good. The plot didn't do anything for me at all. Ahh well.
Best movie I have seen recently is nowhere boy - about Jonh Lennon's early days. Really interesting.
'Ip Man 2' was a let down, had well choreographed fight scenes, but that was about it. Plot line was average but the direction was poor, acting too was lacking. All in all average sequel.
'The Crazies' was alright if your into Zombies-taking-over-small-town-America genre. Good performances but usual story.

I watched I love you Phillip Morris last night and thought it was quality. Part comedy, part gay love story - a hom-com, if you will.
The Expendables is the greatest movie i have ever seen
Harry Brown was quite good, wasn't anything special. Heard it explained as an English Gran Torino, but there are only a few elements similar.
Saw The Expendables and it's so good. Quality film, loved it. Lacked Vinnie Jones, and a small cameo for Clint Eastwood wouldn't have gone amiss, but still. Absolute sausage fest at the cinema though, 90% male with high-5's during the most impressive kills and general cheering. So much testosterone I was surprised there weren't people pumping iron in there at the same time.
Did "The Expendables" appear cut to you guys? I thought there were some radically cut scenes including the arnold one at the start which if you watch the clips on youtube, show slightly differing dialogue.
Quality action movie which IMHO seemed a cross of "Dogs of War" (Christopher Walken) and "Commando" (Arnold).
Cant wait for the DVD version. probaly called 'The Ulitmate graphic Cut". Oh and i want one of those shot guns for Christmas!
Eastwood, Seagal & Van Damm were the only three missing.

I'd add Danny Trejo, Vinnie Jones, and maybe even Samuel L. Jackson to that list LG. A few people online suggested The Rock but I can't agree with that. Any man who stars in a movie called The Tooth Fairy has forfeited any right to be considered tough.
Pity Seagal runs like an absolute girl.
