Plug it in.

Find out how to reset it. (different for different types of iPods).

Various other things, depending on what type of iPod...

Yeah, I've had this problem.

Try restoring it - when connected to iTunes, the summary tab for your iPod has an option to Restore the original settings.

You could also try updating the iPod software (this option is on the same page as above).

If neither of these work you may have to take it to an Apple dealer to send it away to get it checked out. I had to do this with my brothers nano and they ended up giving him a brand new one (his was new anyway) as it had a fault.

mine is a generation 4?? ipod, (the u2 edition one) it wont even register as being connected on itunes, tried to reset it and it just wont do it. prob just throw it out as the cost of getting it fixed will be about the same as a new one i think.

yeah might crapped itself after just a year (Nano). Completely dead - and I think it costs non-refundable thirty bucks to see if it can be fixed - and there is bugger all chance of that I reckon so prob get a new one. When does the iphone come out and can you buy them overseas and get them converted?

Press the menu button and the center circle at the same time, this forces a hard reset.

And www.apple.com/ipod/support is probably a good place to go too ...

The iPhone is able to be purchased from overseas. Just don't install the firmware update...
